Reflection Template For Brigid, Clachan's Heart
For each loss, name one primary cause and one secondary cause. For each win, name the card, package, or tactical policy that most contributed to the win. Classify each result as a card quantity problem, card selection problem, mana problem, tempo problem, matchup problem, sideboard problem, pilot sequencing problem, or closing-power problem. Report mana performance, sideboard impact, stranded cards, overperforming cards, underperforming cards, and whether the Deck Strategy or Tactical Policy guidance was followed.
-
Deciding factor: identify whether the game was won or lost through fast mana into a protected engine, commander combat pressure, a Finale of Devastation or Tooth and Nail close, repeated tutor velocity, or failure to assemble a coherent lane before the opponent stabilized.
-
Mulligans: record whether the opener had real green access, a first-turn accelerant such as Arbor Elf, Birds of Paradise, Elvish Mystic, Fyndhorn Elves, Llanowar Elves, Avacyn's Pilgrim, Delighted Halfling, Boreal Druid, Sol Ring, Lotus Petal, Elvish Spirit Guide, Utopia Sprawl, or Wild Growth, and at least one payoff, tutor, protection piece, or interaction spell.
-
Mana: note every game where Ancient Tomb, Gemstone Caverns, Gaea's Cradle, Dryad Arbor, Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth, Savannah, Temple Garden, Command Tower, Bountiful Promenade, Lush Portico, fetch lands, or basic Snow-Covered Forest and Snow-Covered Plains sequencing determined whether the deck could cast its important spells on time.
-
Velocity: track whether Worldly Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, Eladamri's Call, Chord of Calling, Green Sun's Zenith, Summoner's Pact, Shared Summons, Ranger of Eos, Ranger-Captain of Eos, Recruiter of the Guard, Woodland Bellower, Invasion of Ikoria, Archdruid's Charm, Eldritch Evolution, Natural Order, Altar of Bone, or Finale of Devastation found the correct class of card rather than a disconnected value card.
-
Engine assembly: record whether Ashaya, Soul of the Wild, Quirion Ranger, Scryb Ranger, Wirewood Symbiote, Hyrax Tower Scout, Village Bell-Ringer, Emiel the Blessed, Staff of Domination, Umbral Mantle, Seedcradle Witch, Mobilize, Vitalize, and Gaea's Cradle were deployed with enough mana, bodies, and protection to matter.
-
Protection timing: review each use or missed use of Silence, Grand Abolisher, Ranger-Captain of Eos, Veil of Summer, Allosaurus Shepherd, Delighted Halfling, Sylvan Safekeeper, Endurance, and Legolas's Quick Reflexes against visible interaction and stack timing.
-
Removal and disruption: log whether Swords to Plowshares, Boseiju, Who Endures, Haywire Mite, Witch Enchanter, Emerald Charm, Archdruid's Charm, Endurance, and commander combat decisions answered the permanent or graveyard action that actually threatened the plan.
-
Sideboard: confirm every post-game sideboard request was rejected or recorded as no change because Sideboard (0) makes swaps illegal.
-
Closing: ask whether the pilot converted a winning board into Finale of Devastation, Tooth and Nail, Allosaurus Shepherd pressure, Brigid, Clachan's Heart pressure, Staff of Domination, Umbral Mantle, or another visible legal close before the opponent recovered.
-
Mistakes and stranded cards: list cards stranded by color, mana value, missing sacrifice fodder, missing creature count, tutor timing, protection timing, or card-text uncertainty, especially Natural Order, Eldritch Evolution, Altar of Bone, Tooth and Nail, Brightglass Gearhulk, Sowing Mycospawn, Disciple of Freyalise, and Starfield Shepherd.
-
Overperformers and underperformers: name exact cards that repeatedly changed outcomes or sat unused, and separate pilot error from matchup pressure before recommending changes.
