Reflection Template For Elves

For each loss, name one primary cause and one secondary cause. For each win, name the card, package, or tactical policy that most contributed to the win. Classify each result as a card quantity problem, card selection problem, mana problem, tempo problem, matchup problem, sideboard problem, pilot sequencing problem, or closing-power problem. Report mana performance, sideboard impact, stranded cards, overperforming cards, underperforming cards, and whether the Deck Strategy or Tactical Policy guidance was followed.

  • Deciding factor: Which public event most changed the game: early Priest of Titania, unanswered Timberwatch Elf, a large Elvish Vanguard, a resolved Lead the Stampede, a resolved Winding Way, a countered payoff, a sweeper, a stalled combat board, or a missed closing window?

  • Mulligans: Did the opening hand have a realistic first two turns with Forest, Llanowar Elves, Fyndhorn Elves, Elvish Mystic, Birchlore Rangers, Jaspera Sentinel, or Quirion Ranger, and did any keep rely too heavily on drawing a missing land, Elf, or blue source?

  • Mana: Did Birchlore Rangers, Jaspera Sentinel, Priest of Titania, and Quirion Ranger create enough mana at the right time, or were Distant Melody, sideboard counters, Nyxborn Hydra, or Valakut Invoker stranded by color, summoning sickness, tapped creatures, or insufficient total mana?

  • Velocity: Did Lead the Stampede, Winding Way, Distant Melody, Elvish Visionary, and Salt Road Packbeast convert stalled boards into pressure, or did draw/selection happen when the visible board demanded combat, interaction, or lethal setup instead?

  • Engine protection: Did the pilot expose Priest of Titania, Timberwatch Elf, or a lethal-sized Elvish Vanguard to visible removal or bad combat without enough payoff, or did the pilot wait too long and let the opponent establish a stronger position?

  • Combat conversion: Did wide boards become lethal through legal Timberwatch Elf, Nyxborn Hydra, Elvish Vanguard, or mass-attack lines, or did the pilot keep passing through favorable attack steps because blockers or life totals were over-respected?

  • Interaction: Did Blue Elemental Blast, Negate, Spell Pierce, Dispel, Masked Vandal, or Deglamer hit the action or permanent that actually mattered, or were they spent on replaceable threats while a sweeper, combo spell, artifact engine, enchantment, or removal window remained likely?

  • Sideboard impact: Did Vitu-Ghazi Inspector, Nylea's Disciple, Wellwisher, Valakut Invoker, and the counter/removal package improve the matchup-specific plan, or did sideboarding reduce Elf density enough to weaken Priest of Titania, Timberwatch Elf, Lead the Stampede, and Winding Way?

  • Role accuracy: Did the pilot correctly identify when Elves was the beatdown, the combo-engine deck, the stabilizing deck, or the long-game deck, and did the chosen legal actions match that role after public information changed?

  • Mistakes and stranded cards: Which cards remained in hand for multiple turns, and was the cause mana, color, timing, opposing pressure, legal-action absence, or an earlier sequencing choice involving Quirion Ranger, Birchlore Rangers, Jaspera Sentinel, or Priest of Titania?

  • Overperformers and underperformers: Which exact cards most often produced wins, stabilized losses, failed to matter, or created awkward choices, especially Distant Melody, Salt Road Packbeast, Nyxborn Hydra, Masked Vandal, Blue Elemental Blast, Wellwisher, and Valakut Invoker?
