Reflection Template For Spider-Man 2099

For each loss, name one primary cause and one secondary cause. For each win, name the card, package, or tactical policy that most contributed to the win. Classify each result as a card quantity problem, card selection problem, mana problem, tempo problem, matchup problem, sideboard problem, pilot sequencing problem, or closing-power problem. Report mana performance, sideboard impact, stranded cards, overperforming cards, underperforming cards, and whether the Deck Strategy or Tactical Policy guidance was followed.

  • Deciding factor: Identify the exact turn, visible threat, stack exchange, or combat step that decided the game, and record whether Spider-Man 2099, True-Name Nemesis, Laelia, the Blade Reforged, Mercurial Spelldancer, Combat Research, or a burn finish was the actual path to victory or the abandoned plan.

  • Mulligans: Record whether the opener had both functional colors and an early role card, especially Island or Command Tower for Counterspell, Spell Pierce, Vapor Snag, Expressive Iteration, and Repeal, or Mountain for Dragon's Rage Channeler, Faithless Looting, Lightning Bolt, Lava Dart, and Flame Slash.

  • Mana: Note every loss or stutter caused by tapped lands, Shivan Reef damage, Izzet Boilerworks tempo, missing blue interaction, missing red removal, or failing to sequence Fabled Passage before a surveil, draw, or exile-to-play effect.

  • Velocity: Track whether Faithless Looting, Expressive Iteration, Light Up the Stage, Occult Epiphany, Dragon's Rage Channeler, and Laelia, the Blade Reforged created usable cards or stranded spells that could not be cast before the timing window closed.

  • Engines: Record whether Combat Research, Clout of the Dominus, Swiftfoot Boots, Mirror Shield, Leyline of Resonance, Advanced Reconstruction, Grim Lavamancer, Detective's Phoenix, and Squee, Dubious Monarch advanced the board or consumed mana better held for interaction.

  • Removal: Check whether Lightning Bolt, Lightning Strike, Ghostfire Slice, Unholy Heat, Flame Slash, Roast, Lightning Axe, Fire // Ice, Fury, Pyrokinesis, Force of Rage, Vapor Snag, Repeal, Withdraw, and Seal of Removal answered the highest-pressure visible permanent.

  • Protection: Record whether Turn Aside, Lazotep Plating, Spell Pierce, Mana Leak, Negate, Counterspell, Wash Away, Pyroblast, Red Elemental Blast, Hydroblast, and Dispel were held for decisive windows or spent on low-impact spells.

  • Sideboard: Record whether Pyroblast, Red Elemental Blast, Hydroblast, Abrade, Vandalblast, Grafdigger's Cage, Pithing Needle, Brotherhood's End, Dispel, and Aetherize had visible targets after boarding, and whether any sideboard card conflicted with the active game plan.

  • Closing: Note whether the deck failed to convert early damage into lethal, especially with Delver of Secrets, Kari Zev, Skyship Raider, Loyal Apprentice, Gut, True Soul Zealot, Detective's Phoenix, True-Name Nemesis, Nova Hellkite, or commander pressure.

  • Role: Record each turn where the pilot should have switched from tempo to control, control to race, or setup to closing, and name the visible board state that justified the role change.

  • Mistakes: Flag any legal-action choice that ignored known information, including attacking with a needed blocker, passing with removal up under a short clock, tapping out before a key opposing turn, or protecting a creature that was not winning.

  • Stranded cards: List every card stuck in hand for two or more turns because of mana, timing, target restrictions, graveyard shortage, opponent shields, or unsuitable board state.

  • Overperformers and underperformers: Record which exact cards changed win probability, and separate true card strength from matchup-specific context or pilot error.
