# Strategy Specifications
## Deck Name And Archetype
Inside Out Combo is a Pauper deck registered as a 60-card main deck with a 15-card sideboard. The submitted main deck counts to exactly 60 cards: 37 nonlands and 23 lands. The submitted sideboard counts to exactly 15 cards. Use the registered names exactly as listed: `Aurora Eidolon`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Wind-Scarred Crag`, `Escape Tunnel`, `Prismatic Strands`, `Plains`, `Inside Out`, `Mountain`, `Lightning Bolt`, `Lightning Axe`, `Fling`, `Faithless Looting`, `Pursue the Past`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Sneaky Snacker`, `Spirit Mascot`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Tireless Tribe`, `Boros Garrison`, `Pyroblast`, `Electrickery`, `Flaring Pain`, `Red Elemental Blast`, `Siege Smash`, `Thraben Charm`, `Cast into the Fire`, and `Benevolent Blessing`.
Inside Out Combo is best classified as a hybrid combo-tempo spells deck, not a stock Pauper archetype with fully settled play patterns. Treat it as a rogue or lightly established strategy built around resolving and protecting a lethal or near-lethal creature-combo turn, while using red-white filtering, protection, removal, and sideboard interaction to survive long enough to commit.
Primary mechanic tags are `combo`, `tempo`, and `spells`. The duplicate tag string supplied by the user is normalized for strategic use as combo-tempo-spells; do not infer additional archetype tags such as control, burn, heroic, or reanimator unless later testing proves those roles are real.
Pauper legality must be verified by the runtime card database or a current legality source before sanctioned assumptions are made. This guide should be used tactically for Veles testing, but it must not override the rules engine on card availability, legal targets, spell timing, cost payment, prevention rules, protection effects, or whether any card is currently legal in Pauper.
Mana identity and construction concerns are clear from the list: the deck is red-white with no apparent off-color mana requirement in the registered names. The mana base is 23 lands with 4 `Wind-Scarred Crag`, 4 `Escape Tunnel`, 2 `Boros Garrison`, 5 `Plains`, and 5 `Mountain`, so opening hands must respect both color access and tapped-land pacing. The deck likely needs early white access for `Tireless Tribe`, protection, and prevention, plus early red access for looting, removal, and burst lines; keep decisions should punish hands that have only tapped development and no functional early spell path.
Role concerns are significant because the deck can look like a low-resource aggro deck while actually needing a protected combo window. The pilot should not spend `Tireless Tribe`, protection, or discard fuel casually unless the visible position demands survival or creates a decisive attack. The deck also has several cards whose exact tactical value depends on current text and engine implementation, especially `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Spirit Mascot`, `Pursue the Past`, `Siege Smash`, `Cast into the Fire`, and `Benevolent Blessing`; card text check required before hard-coding non-obvious interactions.
Opponent information status is currently unspecified. Until a matchup guide or revealed opponent decklist is available, Veles should reason from visible board state, public zones, revealed cards, match history, and broad Pauper archetype cues only. Do not assume the opponent has specific removal, counterspells, graveyard hate, sweepers, or fog effects unless they are visible, revealed, previously logged in the match, or provided by matchup context.
## Thesis
Inside Out Combo assembles a protected `Tireless Tribe` turn where discard effects inflate toughness, `Inside Out` converts that toughness into power, and combat damage or `Fling` converts the temporary body into a kill. Prioritize finding `Tireless Tribe`, preserving enough cards in hand to fuel it, holding the exact red-white mana for the combo turn, and forcing the opponent to answer through `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Prismatic Strands`, removal, or sideboard interaction.
The deck wins by compressing setup and lethal into one rules-engine-verified window, not by trading cards until the opponent runs out of resources. Treat early turns as assembly: deploy mana, locate or protect a creature, filter with `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, and `Pursue the Past`, and remove only threats that shorten the clock or block the combo path. `Inside Out` should usually be treated as a payoff piece, not as a casual cantrip, unless the visible game state makes digging more important than preserving lethal potential.
The deck is not trying to be a normal Boros midrange deck, a burn deck, or a creature swarm deck. `Sneaky Snacker`, `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, and `Spirit Mascot` can supply bodies, pressure, or fuel depending on their verified text, but they should not distract from the central question: can a protected `Tireless Tribe` connect or can `Fling` finish after a large pump sequence? Card text check required for non-obvious `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Spirit Mascot`, and `Pursue the Past` tactical assumptions.
Prioritize visible legality over scripted combo desire. If the rules engine does not offer a target, discard, attack, evasion, protection, or damage action, do not assume it exists. When the opponent represents open interaction, decide whether waiting improves protection and redundancy or whether waiting loses to pressure, discard, countermagic, graveyard hate, or mana development; this commitment gate should be reasoned from public information rather than automated.
## Role Package
- Threats: `Tireless Tribe` is the primary threat because it turns spare cards into a lethal body with `Inside Out`; protect it more carefully than replaceable attackers. `Sneaky Snacker` is a secondary threat and discard-synergy body when its verified text supports recurring or entering from graveyard/discard patterns. `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, and `Spirit Mascot` are auxiliary creatures whose exact tactical jobs require card text checks before treating them as pressure, combo fuel, protection, or recursion pieces.
- Payoffs: `Inside Out` is the defining payoff and should be conserved for lethal, near-lethal, or forced breakthrough turns unless drawing a card is necessary to avoid falling behind. `Fling` is the alternate payoff when combat is blocked, fogged, or too risky, but sacrificing the combo creature is irreversible, so use it only when the engine confirms legal targeting and damage is decisive or survival requires it. `Escape Tunnel` can be a payoff enabler if the visible legal action grants a small creature evasion before the pump or switch sequence.
- Engines: `Tireless Tribe` plus a stocked hand is the core engine, so every loot, discovery, bounce-land decision, and pass should consider future discard count. `Boros Garrison` supports longer setup by increasing mana density, but tapped timing and land-return risk matter against fast pressure. `Prismatic Strands` can buy a setup turn when prevention is legal, especially if a white creature can pay flashback costs; let the engine confirm all timing and payment details.
- Velocity: `Faithless Looting` and `Thrilling Discovery` are the main filtering package, improving weak hands, loading discard synergies, and increasing the chance of finding `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, protection, or removal. `Pursue the Past` belongs in the velocity or recursion module only after card text is verified; card text check required before assuming what it selects, returns, or enables.
- Interaction: `Lightning Axe` is high-impact creature interaction and also turns a spare card into a cost, but do not discard a needed combo card unless the target matters. `Lightning Bolt` is flexible removal or reach, with target choice driven by blockers, clocks, and exact lethal math. Sideboard interaction includes `Pyroblast`, `Red Elemental Blast`, `Electrickery`, `Flaring Pain`, `Siege Smash`, `Thraben Charm`, and `Cast into the Fire`; use them only in matchups where their verified text has live targets or a clear anti-hate role.
- Protection: `Blacksmith's Skill` protects the committed permanent through removal or combat damage when legal, and it should be saved for the turn that matters unless preserving a unique `Tireless Tribe` is necessary. `Prismatic Strands` protects life total and sometimes combat positioning. `Benevolent Blessing` is a sideboard protection card, but card text check required before relying on color choice, targeting, timing, or interaction with `Inside Out` lines.
- Recursion: `Faithless Looting` provides flashback-style late velocity if the rules engine exposes it. `Pursue the Past`, `Sneaky Snacker`, `Aurora Eidolon`, and `Sandstorm Eidolon` may supply recursion or graveyard value depending on verified text; do not hard-code those roles until the engine shows legal actions.
- Mana: `Wind-Scarred Crag`, `Plains`, `Mountain`, `Boros Garrison`, and `Escape Tunnel` must produce early white for `Tireless Tribe` and protection and early red for `Faithless Looting`, `Lightning Axe`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Inside Out`, and `Fling`. Prefer sequencing that leaves combo-turn red-white access plus protection mana over simply maximizing tapped-land efficiency.
- Sideboard modules: `Pyroblast` and `Red Elemental Blast` are blue-interaction tools; `Electrickery` is for small-creature boards; `Flaring Pain` is for prevention or fog fights; `Prismatic Strands` increases survival against combat decks; `Siege Smash`, `Thraben Charm`, `Cast into the Fire`, and `Benevolent Blessing` cover hate, artifacts, enchantments, graveyards, or protection only as their verified text and legal targets allow.
## Primary Win Conditions
- `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out` is the main kill: set up a protected `Tireless Tribe`, keep enough cards in hand to discard, make it hard or impossible to block, then cast `Inside Out` only when the rules engine offers a legal target and the resulting combat or damage line is lethal or strongly favored. Prioritize this path when you have red-white mana, a live creature, enough cards to pump, and either opponent shields are down or `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Prismatic Strands`, removal, or timing pressure justifies committing.
- `Escape Tunnel` enables the cleanest combat kill when it can legally target `Tireless Tribe` before the power increase. Use the evasion action before heavy discard or `Inside Out` if the engine shows the unblockable action for a small enough creature; do not assume the action remains legal after changing power/toughness or after other effects resolve.
- `Blacksmith's Skill` is the preferred protection on the combo turn because it can answer visible removal or combat-risk windows for the critical permanent when legal. Save it for `Tireless Tribe` or the exact permanent whose survival enables lethal unless losing the creature now would end the game plan.
- `Fling` is the primary noncombat payoff after `Tireless Tribe` is enlarged and switched, especially through blockers, stalled boards, or prevention-resistant lethal lines if the engine confirms legal target and damage. Treat `Fling` as a commitment gate because sacrificing the creature ends the main line if the spell is countered, prevented, or otherwise fails to end the game.
- `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, and `Pursue the Past` support the kill by finding `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, protection, lands, or finishing pieces while stocking discard fuel. `Pursue the Past` tactical assumptions require card text check required; use it as selection, recursion, or velocity only when the engine exposes that exact legal function.
## Secondary Win Conditions
- `Sneaky Snacker` pressure is a backup plan when the combo is delayed, disrupted, or unnecessary. Card text check required before assuming recursion, discard synergy, or evasion; if the engine shows it returning or attacking legally, use it to tax removal and shorten the clock without spending `Inside Out` casually.
- `Lightning Bolt` and `Fling` can combine for reach when combat damage leaves the opponent within burn range. Use `Lightning Bolt` on the opponent only when the life total math is exact or when removing a blocker is lower value than preserving direct damage.
- `Lightning Axe` clears blockers or fast threats while also converting excess cards into interaction. Prefer discarding redundant lands, extra creatures, or situational cards over `Inside Out`, `Fling`, or the last protection spell unless survival requires the removal.
- `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, and `Spirit Mascot` may function as auxiliary bodies, discard fuel, blockers, or recursive material, but card text check required before assigning them a specific engine role. Use them as visible legal creatures to pressure planes of attack, absorb damage, or enable `Prismatic Strands` flashback only when the engine confirms the relevant actions.
- `Prismatic Strands` can create a virtual extra turn against creature decks, letting the deck untap with `Tireless Tribe`, reload with draw spells, or wait for protection. Prioritize this line when life total is the bottleneck and combo resources are close but not complete.
## Emergency Lines
- Behind on life: preserve blockers, prioritize `Prismatic Strands`, remove the largest clock with `Lightning Axe` or `Lightning Bolt`, and stop spending cards on low-impact filtering if the next attack step can kill you. Combo only when the current window is safer than giving the opponent another turn.
- Behind on board: treat blockers and removal as bridge resources, not a permanent control plan. Use `Lightning Axe` on creatures that block lethal or represent the fastest clock, and use `Escape Tunnel` to bypass a cluttered battlefield when the engine offers the line.
- Behind on cards: protect hand size as combo fuel and avoid speculative `Tireless Tribe` discards before commitment. Prefer `Faithless Looting` or `Thrilling Discovery` lines that find missing pieces, but do not discard the only payoff or only threat unless the replacement odds and visible pressure demand it.
- Behind on mana: sequence `Wind-Scarred Crag`, `Boros Garrison`, `Plains`, `Mountain`, and `Escape Tunnel` to preserve red-white access first, then utility. Do not keep a line that needs `Inside Out` plus `Blacksmith's Skill` plus `Fling` if the visible lands cannot support it in time.
- Engine disrupted: if `Tireless Tribe` is removed, pivot to selection and secondary pressure while conserving `Inside Out` and `Fling` for the next real threat. If `Inside Out` is missing or exhausted, pressure with creatures and burn while using draw spells to rebuild rather than forcing nonlethal pump actions.
- Graveyard or recursion pressure: do not rely on `Sneaky Snacker`, `Faithless Looting` flashback, `Pursue the Past`, `Aurora Eidolon`, or `Sandstorm Eidolon` from graveyard unless the engine exposes legal actions. Shift toward hand-based assembly and battlefield protection when graveyard access is blocked.
- Removed win conditions: if both the main combat kill and `Fling` route are unavailable, play to survive, develop mana, and win with creature attacks plus `Lightning Bolt` reach. This fallback is slow, so prioritize exact damage, blocking discipline, and avoiding trades that remove the last credible attacker.
## Resource Model
- Life is a setup buffer, not the primary resource: spend early life from attacks only when it buys time to assemble `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, protection, and enough hand size to threaten lethal. `Wind-Scarred Crag`, `Thrilling Discovery`, and `Prismatic Strands` can stretch the clock, but do not treat life gain or prevention as permission to ignore a lethal next attack.
- Hand size is combo power: each card held can matter for `Tireless Tribe`, `Lightning Axe`, `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, and possible graveyard or recursion lines. Discard redundant lands, extra creatures, or conditional pieces before the only `Inside Out`, only `Tireless Tribe`, only protection spell, or exact lethal card.
- Mana converts options into safe commitment: prioritize having red-white access plus enough total mana to cast `Inside Out` and still hold up `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Lightning Bolt`, `Lightning Axe`, `Prismatic Strands`, or `Fling` when the board demands it. A combo hand with no protection may still be correct against tapped-out opponents, but open interaction makes spare mana much more valuable.
- Board presence is both threat and shield: `Tireless Tribe` is the protected engine creature, while `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Sneaky Snacker`, and `Spirit Mascot` are secondary bodies, blockers, discard fodder, pressure, or synergy pieces only as visible rules-engine actions confirm. Card text check required for all non-obvious recursion or triggered roles on those creatures.
- Graveyard is a conditional resource: `Faithless Looting` may offer flashback if legal, `Prismatic Strands` may offer graveyard prevention if legal, and `Pursue the Past`, `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, or `Sneaky Snacker` may have graveyard-relevant text requiring card text check. Use graveyard lines only from explicit legal actions, and expect graveyard hate after sideboarding.
- Exile is mostly a status zone: track exiled `Inside Out`, `Tireless Tribe`, `Fling`, and protection because they change the remaining kill density. Do not plan to access exiled cards unless the rules engine exposes a specific legal action.
- Lands are spell slots after mana is stable: excess `Plains`, `Mountain`, `Wind-Scarred Crag`, or bounced lands can become `Tireless Tribe` pump fuel or `Lightning Axe` costs, but early lands are precious until red-white access and combo-turn mana are established.
- Sacrifice fodder is narrow and costly: `Fling` normally sacrifices the enlarged creature as a finishing line, while `Escape Tunnel` sacrifices itself for evasion. Do not sacrifice a key permanent for marginal damage or evasion unless the current legal line meaningfully advances lethal, survival, or a forced race.
- Tempo is created by threatening instant lethal: deploying `Tireless Tribe`, holding cards, and representing `Inside Out` can force the opponent to respect a kill. Use `Lightning Axe`, `Lightning Bolt`, and `Prismatic Strands` to buy one more decisive turn rather than to play a long attrition game.
- Information is protection: revealed removal, open mana, known counterspells, graveyard hate, and visible blockers decide whether to commit `Inside Out`, wait, use `Escape Tunnel`, or preserve `Blacksmith's Skill`. Never assume hidden interaction is absent; weigh likely archetype pressure against the cost of waiting.
- Sideboard bullets convert narrow windows: `Pyroblast` and `Red Elemental Blast` are for blue spells or permanents when legal, `Electrickery` is for small-creature boards, `Flaring Pain` is for prevention fights, `Siege Smash`, `Thraben Charm`, `Cast into the Fire`, and `Benevolent Blessing` require card text check for exact use and targets, and extra `Prismatic Strands` buys time against combat decks.
## Mana Guide
- Red-white access is mandatory: keep hands that can cast early white creatures and red selection/removal while reaching `Inside Out` mana. `Plains` enables `Tireless Tribe`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Prismatic Strands`, and some creatures; `Mountain` enables `Faithless Looting`, `Lightning Bolt`, `Lightning Axe`, `Fling`, and red payment for `Inside Out` if the engine confirms the hybrid mode.
- Tapped lands need early planning: lead `Wind-Scarred Crag` when the hand has no turn-one `Tireless Tribe` or urgent `Faithless Looting`, and lead an untapped basic when a one-mana play affects survival or setup. The life from `Wind-Scarred Crag` is useful, but entering tapped can cost the critical setup turn.
- `Boros Garrison` is high value but tempo-negative: play it when you can afford the tapped turn and have a land to bounce without losing a required color. Prefer bouncing `Wind-Scarred Crag` for later life or a basic that is no longer needed immediately; avoid `Boros Garrison` lines that leave no mana for a protection or removal window you must answer.
- `Escape Tunnel` is a land before it is a combo piece: use it for mana early when color requirements are already covered, then preserve it when `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out` is approaching. Activate its evasion only before power changes make the target illegal and only when the engine offers the legal target action.
- Keep/mulligan mana rule: keep two-land hands with at least one white source and realistic red access or card selection; be cautious with one-land hands unless `Faithless Looting`, curve, and draw odds are strong and the matchup is not punishing. Mulligan hands that cannot cast `Tireless Tribe` or selection in time, cannot produce red-white, or rely on `Boros Garrison` alone under pressure.
- Play lands before draw spells when mana quality matters this turn: if casting `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, or `Pursue the Past` after a land drop, decide whether the current hand already has the necessary colors and whether extra drawn lands would change the land choice. Hold the land drop before selection when a drawn `Escape Tunnel`, missing color, or untapped source would materially change the turn.
- Sequence combo turns from constraints first: secure legal evasion with `Escape Tunnel`, preserve red for `Inside Out`, preserve white for `Blacksmith's Skill` or `Prismatic Strands`, and leave mana for `Fling` only when the noncombat kill is part of the selected line. Do not spend the last red mana on filtering if the same turn may require `Inside Out`, `Lightning Axe`, `Lightning Bolt`, or `Fling`.
## Mulligan Guide
- Strong keep: keep `Tireless Tribe` plus two lands with white-red access and either `Inside Out`, `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, or protection such as `Blacksmith's Skill`. This hand has the creature, colors, and a way to find or protect the kill instead of only hoping to topdeck.
- Strong keep: keep `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, `Escape Tunnel`, two functional lands, and at least two spare cards. This threatens the cleanest setup because `Escape Tunnel` can give evasion before `Inside Out`, while excess cards become `Tireless Tribe` pump fuel.
- Medium keep: keep two lands, `Faithless Looting` or `Thrilling Discovery`, one defensive spell such as `Lightning Axe`, `Lightning Bolt`, or `Prismatic Strands`, and no `Tireless Tribe` only when the matchup gives time. This hand must use selection to find `Tireless Tribe` or a pressure plan, not drift into fair low-impact creature play.
- Risky keep: keep one-land `Faithless Looting` hands only on the draw with a one-mana land, red access, and multiple live hits. Ship one-land hands that need both colors, contain `Boros Garrison` as the second land plan, or cannot cast a relevant spell if the second land misses.
- Matchup-dependent keep: keep slower `Boros Garrison` plus selection hands against low-pressure decks, but mulligan them against fast creature decks or burn unless they already include `Tireless Tribe`, early interaction, or `Prismatic Strands`. The tapped bounce-land turn is costly when life total is the opponent's fastest resource.
- Play/draw adjustment: on the play, prefer hands with an immediate `Tireless Tribe`, `Faithless Looting`, or untapped color source; on the draw, accept slightly slower card-selection hands because the extra card improves combo density. Do not keep a draw-dependent hand merely because it has `Inside Out` if it lacks a creature and mana stability.
- Automatic ship: mulligan zero-land, one-land no-selection, five-plus-land no-selection, all-red hands without white access, all-white hands without red access or selection, and hands that cannot cast any meaningful spell before turn three. A hand with `Inside Out` but no plausible `Tireless Tribe` access is not a combo hand.
- Trap hand: ship hands that contain `Inside Out`, `Fling`, and many spells but no `Tireless Tribe` or selection. The deck kills through a legal creature commitment first; payoff cards without a body are stranded.
- Trap hand: be suspicious of `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Sneaky Snacker`, `Spirit Mascot`, and `Pursue the Past` clusters without `Tireless Tribe` or clear selection. Card text check required for exact engine roles, so treat them as support until the rules engine exposes concrete legal value.
- Protection rule: value `Blacksmith's Skill` higher against visible or likely spot removal, and value `Prismatic Strands` higher against creature combat or burn-like pressure. Do not keep a protection-heavy hand that cannot present a threat or find one.
## Turn Arc
- Turn 1 priority: play `Tireless Tribe` off `Plains` when available unless the hand urgently needs `Faithless Looting` to fix a failing start. If no one-drop creature is present, lead `Wind-Scarred Crag` when no untapped action matters, or lead `Mountain` for `Faithless Looting` when selection is needed immediately.
- Turn 1 deviation: hold `Escape Tunnel` as a land only if color access is already covered or no colored one-mana play exists. Do not spend the first turn setting up tapped mana if the legal hand can deploy `Tireless Tribe` and begin threatening combo.
- Turn 2 priority: develop the missing color, cast selection, or deploy the first real body. `Faithless Looting` should look for `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, `Escape Tunnel`, protection, and missing land; discard redundant lands, extra support creatures, or conditional cards before unique combo pieces.
- Turn 2 deviation: play `Boros Garrison` only when the board and hand can absorb a tapped turn. Prefer this when you already have `Tireless Tribe` or selection online; avoid it when the opponent is attacking quickly or when holding up `Lightning Bolt`, `Lightning Axe`, or `Blacksmith's Skill` matters.
- Turn 3 priority: assemble a protected threat rather than firing a fragile kill into open interaction. A common line is `Tireless Tribe` plus held cards, `Escape Tunnel` ready or in play, and mana left for `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Lightning Axe`, `Lightning Bolt`, or `Prismatic Strands` if the opponent's visible board demands it.
- Turn 3 combo check: commit `Inside Out` only when legal damage is meaningful, evasion or combat access is available, and the risk of removal or prevention is acceptable. Activate `Escape Tunnel` before `Inside Out` when that is the intended evasion line and the rules engine confirms the target is legal.
- Turns 4-5 priority: convert the setup into lethal or force the opponent to spend interaction while you retain redundancy. Use `Thrilling Discovery`, `Faithless Looting`, and `Pursue the Past` only when the legal text and current mana leave enough resources for the selected kill, defense, or protection line; Card text check required for `Pursue the Past` specifics.
- Turns 4-5 deviation: use `Lightning Axe` or `Lightning Bolt` defensively when a creature shortens the clock or blocks the combo turn, not just because removal is legal. Use `Prismatic Strands` to buy the decisive turn when combat damage or burn-like damage is the visible danger and the engine exposes the prevention action.
- Turns 4-5 finish: prefer a combat kill with `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out` when the path is clear or made clear by `Escape Tunnel`. Consider `Fling` only when sacrificing the enlarged creature produces lethal or avoids combat failure; do not convert the only threat into partial damage.
- Late game priority: rebuild around the next `Tireless Tribe` or legal recursion/selection line while preserving enough cards to pump. Extra lands become discard fuel only after mana for `Inside Out`, protection, and any selected `Fling` or removal line is secure.
- Late game deviation: shift into survival mode when life is low or the opponent has a wide board. Trade support creatures, use `Prismatic Strands`, and spend removal to stay alive; the combo is powerful, but a dead pilot cannot use a perfect hand next turn.
## Card Roles
- `Tireless Tribe`: Treat `Tireless Tribe` as the deck's primary required creature and the card that turns every spare card into potential lethal power through `Inside Out`. Deploy it early when you can protect it or when the opponent is unlikely to remove it before you untap; hold it only when open removal plus no `Blacksmith's Skill` makes immediate exposure worse than waiting. Preserve cards in hand once `Tireless Tribe` is active, because lands, recursive support cards, and redundant draw spells become pump fuel. Do not discard unique protection, evasion, or lethal pieces casually; each discard should either create lethal math, preserve survival, or convert a dead card into immediate value.
- `Inside Out`: Use `Inside Out` as the main kill switch, not as a routine cantrip unless the hand is failing and the creature is expendable. The core line is to increase `Tireless Tribe` toughness with discard activations, make it connect through combat or `Escape Tunnel`, then cast `Inside Out` when the rules engine shows a legal target and the resulting damage matters. Hold `Inside Out` against blue decks, red removal, and open black removal until you can force a window, protect the target, or accept that waiting is worse. Remember that `Inside Out` draws a card, so account for the extra card before final discard math if the engine leaves more decisions after resolution.
- `Escape Tunnel`: Use `Escape Tunnel` as the cleanest evasion card for `Tireless Tribe` because the unblockable ability must be applied while the target remains legal. Activate it before `Inside Out`; pumping toughness with `Tireless Tribe` does not raise power, but `Inside Out` can make the creature too large to target. Use the basic-land search mode only when color or land count is the binding constraint and the kill is not imminent. Do not sacrifice `Escape Tunnel` for mana fixing if it is the only visible way to beat blockers on the planned combo turn.
- `Blacksmith's Skill`: Hold `Blacksmith's Skill` primarily to protect `Tireless Tribe` from spot removal during setup or the combo turn. Cast it proactively only when the engine presents removal, damage, or destruction pressure that would otherwise break the line; do not spend it to save a low-impact support creature unless that creature is buying survival or enabling lethal. Against decks with instant-speed interaction, keep white mana available when committing `Inside Out`, `Fling`, or a lethal attack. The artifact bonus is usually irrelevant in this list; use the card for protection unless the rules engine exposes an unusual legal artifact-creature case.
- `Faithless Looting`: Use `Faithless Looting` to find `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, `Escape Tunnel`, missing colors, and protection while loading the graveyard with cards that are better there than in hand. Discard `Sneaky Snacker` early when its recursion text is live or likely to become live, and discard `Aurora Eidolon` or `Sandstorm Eidolon` only when their recursion or graveyard value is confirmed by the rules engine. Avoid discarding the only `Inside Out`, only `Tireless Tribe`, or only white/red source unless the hand otherwise cannot function. Flashback is a late-game rebuild tool, but spending three mana and two cards can weaken an immediate combo turn.
- `Thrilling Discovery`: Treat `Thrilling Discovery` as a high-volume refill that also converts clunky cards into new resources and can support `Sneaky Snacker` recursion if the rules engine exposes that trigger. Cast it when you can afford the discard cost and when the new cards are likely to improve the next turn cycle; avoid casting it before a combo turn if discarding two cards leaves `Tireless Tribe` short of lethal fuel. The life gain is relevant against burn and creature pressure, but do not let the life gain lure the agent into discarding key combo pieces without a replacement plan.
- `Sneaky Snacker`: Use `Sneaky Snacker` as graveyard-based pressure and sacrifice/discard insulation when the rules engine confirms its draw-triggered return. Card text check required for exact recursion timing, tapped status, and castability in this mana base; this list has no black source, so assume graveyard recursion matters more than normal casting unless legal actions prove otherwise. Discard it to `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Lightning Axe`, or `Tireless Tribe` when the draw count can bring it back or when a chump blocker next turn is valuable. Do not rely on it as the main win condition unless graveyard hate or removal has pushed the game away from `Tireless Tribe`.
- `Lightning Axe`: Use `Lightning Axe` as the largest main-deck creature answer and as a controlled discard outlet. Pay the discard cost with `Sneaky Snacker`, redundant lands, extra support creatures, or recursive Eidolons before sacrificing a unique combo card. Fire it at blockers or attackers that change the clock, block lethal, or threaten `Tireless Tribe`; do not spend it on a creature that can be ignored by `Escape Tunnel` unless survival requires it. The five-mana alternate cost is rarely the preferred line but can matter late when cards in hand are all lethal fuel.
- `Lightning Bolt`: Use `Lightning Bolt` as flexible reach, blocker removal, or emergency survival, with opponent face damage reserved for exact lethal or a clear two-turn race. Because there is only one copy, treat it as a tactical answer rather than a plan. Against small-creature decks, using it early to preserve life can be better than saving it for reach. Against control, hold it when it can combine with a partial `Tireless Tribe` hit or punish a low life total after removal stops the first combo attempt.
- `Fling`: Use `Fling` as a secondary kill that converts an enlarged `Tireless Tribe` into direct damage when combat is blocked, fogged by blockers, or unsafe. Commit to `Fling` only when sacrificing the creature is lethal or when losing the creature is already unavoidable; partial damage that leaves no threat is usually a losing exchange. Sequence carefully: the sacrificed creature must already have the relevant power when `Fling` is cast, and the engine must expose a legal target. Protect the line with `Blacksmith's Skill` only if protection can legally stop the interaction being represented.
- `Prismatic Strands`: Use main-deck `Prismatic Strands` as the primary damage-prevention swing against combat decks, burn-like pressure, and lethal crack-back situations. Hold it when it buys the exact turn needed to assemble `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out`, and flash it back only when tapping a white creature does not undermine a lethal attack or necessary block. Card text is known broadly, but still follow the engine's legal color choice and flashback prompts exactly. Do not cast it merely to save a small amount of life if the opponent's next turn remains lethal.
- `Pursue the Past`: Treat `Pursue the Past` as a conditional card-selection or resource spell until the rules engine exposes exact text. Card text check required for cost, timing, card movement, and whether it fills hand, graveyard, exile, or library selection roles. Cast it when the legal action clearly advances finding `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, `Escape Tunnel`, protection, or enough cards to fuel `Tireless Tribe`. Avoid spending mana on it during a turn where the same mana must represent `Inside Out`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Lightning Axe`, or `Fling`.
- `Aurora Eidolon`: Use `Aurora Eidolon` as a support body, discard resource, and possible recursive card if the engine confirms an Eidolon return trigger from multicolored spells such as `Inside Out` or `Thrilling Discovery`. Card text check required for exact activated ability, prevention mode, recursion condition, and timing. In slow matchups, it can help keep hand size high for `Tireless Tribe`; in fast matchups, it may be a blocker or prevention tool if legal actions show that mode. Do not prioritize casting it over `Tireless Tribe` or critical selection unless the visible board demands defense.
- `Sandstorm Eidolon`: Use `Sandstorm Eidolon` only according to the legal modes the engine exposes, because exact card text check required. If it shares the Eidolon recursion pattern, value it as discard fuel that can return after multicolored spells and help refill `Tireless Tribe` activations. If the engine exposes a combat-disruption or blocker-related ability, consider it on combo turns where a blocker prevents lethal. Do not assume it grants evasion, damage, or removal without visible legal text.
- `Spirit Mascot`: Treat `Spirit Mascot` as a conditional support card until exact rules text is confirmed. Card text check required for whether it protects, pumps, creates tokens, modifies combat, or provides selection. Cast it when the engine-presented legal text improves survival, protects the combo body, or adds a relevant attacker/blocker without delaying the core `Tireless Tribe` plan. Avoid building a line around undocumented synergy; if it is merely a small creature in the current state, it is secondary to selection, removal, and combo assembly.
- `Wind-Scarred Crag`: Use `Wind-Scarred Crag` as stable red-white fixing when no untapped turn-one action is being sacrificed. The life point matters against burn and creature races, but entering tapped can cost the game when it delays `Tireless Tribe`, `Faithless Looting`, `Lightning Bolt`, or `Blacksmith's Skill`. Lead it early in slower hands; delay it when immediate untapped white or red mana is tactically required.
- `Boros Garrison`: Use `Boros Garrison` to increase long-game mana and fix both colors only when the tapped turn and land bounce are affordable. It is strong after an early land has already enabled action, but risky in openers that need two separate early turns of mana. Bounce `Wind-Scarred Crag` for extra life only when tempo allows; bounce a basic when you need to preserve `Escape Tunnel` as evasion.
- `Plains` and `Mountain`: Prioritize `Plains` for `Tireless Tribe`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, and `Prismatic Strands`, while prioritizing `Mountain` for `Faithless Looting`, `Lightning Bolt`, `Lightning Axe`, and red payment for `Inside Out`. Keep enough total colored sources to cast setup and protection in the same turn cycle. Extra basics become excellent `Tireless Tribe` fuel only after the active plan has enough mana for payoff, protection, and interaction.

### Card Hover Notes
#### Aurora Eidolon
- Deck role: Main deck, 4 copies, recursive support body and defensive role player.
- Role type: engine fuel/material; lifegain/stabilization; role glue.
- Deck-specific job: Blocks while assembling `Tireless Tribe`, becomes discard fuel for `Tireless Tribe`, `Lightning Axe`, `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, or `Pursue the Past`, and can return from graveyard after casting multicolored `Inside Out`, `Pursue the Past`, `Spirit Mascot`, or `Thrilling Discovery`.
- Timing: Cast when the game is slow or defense matters; discard it more freely when a multicolored spell is likely soon. Sacrifice for prevention only when preventing 3 damage changes survival, protects a combo creature, or wins a race.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs four mana including one white; `{W}` and sacrifice prevent the next 3 damage to any target this turn; multicolored spells can turn graveyard copies back into hand cards for combo fuel.
- Partners / packages: Returns after `Inside Out`, `Pursue the Past`, `Spirit Mascot`, or `Thrilling Discovery`; feeds `Tireless Tribe`, `Lightning Axe`, `Faithless Looting`, and `Thrilling Discovery`.
- Role peers: Closest role overlap is `Sandstorm Eidolon` as a multicolor-recursive Eidolon, but `Aurora Eidolon` prevents damage while `Sandstorm Eidolon` removes blocking.
- Failure modes: Do not spend four mana on a 2/2 when the turn must hold `Inside Out`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Lightning Axe`, `Fling`, or `Prismatic Strands`. Its prevention is a sacrifice shield, not removal.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Better against burn, combat races, and damage-based removal; slower against blue control or combo unless discard-recursion fuel is the relevant plan.
#### Blacksmith's Skill
- Deck role: Main deck, 2 copies, core protection role player.
- Role type: protection/evasion.
- Deck-specific job: Protects the committed `Tireless Tribe` or another critical permanent from targeted removal, destruction, or damage during setup and combo turns. In this list the artifact-creature +2/+2 clause usually has no friendly target.
- Timing: Hold white mana when `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out` or `Fling` is the active line. Cast reactively when a target permanent is threatened; proactive use is correct only when a current lethal line needs hexproof and indestructible before damage or targeting windows.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{W}` and one card; outputs hexproof and indestructible until end of turn to target permanent.
- Partners / packages: Protects `Tireless Tribe`, `Escape Tunnel` before activation if land removal matters, and occasionally `Spirit Mascot`, `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, or `Sneaky Snacker` when that body is the only survival route.
- Role peers: Closest role overlap is `Benevolent Blessing`, but `Blacksmith's Skill` is instant one-turn hexproof/indestructible while `Benevolent Blessing` is a flash Aura with color-specific protection.
- Failure modes: Hexproof does not stop sacrifice effects, edicts, non-targeted sweepers, counterspells on `Inside Out` or `Fling`, or prevention effects. Do not spend it on a support creature while `Tireless Tribe` remains exposed.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Premium against targeted removal and damage-based interaction; less useful against blue counterspells, graveyard hate, or sacrifice-heavy boards.
#### Wind-Scarred Crag
- Deck role: Main deck, 4 copies, tapped red-white fixing mana resource.
- Role type: mana/fixing/ramp; lifegain/stabilization.
- Deck-specific job: Supplies both colors needed for `Tireless Tribe` protection and red filtering/removal while gaining 1 life to stretch races. It helps cast `Thrilling Discovery`, `Pursue the Past`, `Spirit Mascot`, `Inside Out`, and sideboard red or white interaction.
- Timing: Lead with it when no turn-one `Tireless Tribe`, `Faithless Looting`, `Lightning Bolt`, `Lightning Axe`, or `Blacksmith's Skill` window matters. Delay it when an untapped `Plains` or `Mountain` enables immediate setup or protection.
- Inputs / outputs: Enters tapped; gains 1 life; taps for `{R}` or `{W}`. Later extra copies can become discard fuel for `Tireless Tribe`, `Lightning Axe`, `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, or `Pursue the Past`.
- Partners / packages: Fixes for `Inside Out`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Pursue the Past`, `Spirit Mascot`, `Fling`, `Lightning Axe`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, and `Prismatic Strands`.
- Role peers: `Boros Garrison` also fixes red-white but enters tapped and returns a land; `Plains` and `Mountain` are untapped single-color basics.
- Failure modes: Entering tapped can lose a turn-one `Tireless Tribe` or `Faithless Looting` line. Do not count the life gain as worth delaying a lethal or defensive spell.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Stronger in burn and creature races when tempo is available; riskier against fast starts or open removal windows.
#### Escape Tunnel
- Deck role: Main deck, 4 copies, utility land and core combo enabler.
- Role type: protection/evasion; tutor/search; mana/fixing/ramp.
- Deck-specific job: Gives `Tireless Tribe` unblockable before the `Inside Out` kill, or searches a basic when color or land count is missing. Its evasion is one of the cleanest ways to beat blockers without spending `Lightning Axe` or `Lightning Bolt`.
- Timing: Preserve it when `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out` is plausible and blockers matter. Activate the unblockable ability before `Inside Out` makes the creature's power too high; `Tireless Tribe` toughness pumps alone do not raise power.
- Inputs / outputs: First ability taps and sacrifices `Escape Tunnel` to search for `Plains` or `Mountain`, put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle. Second ability taps and sacrifices it so target creature with power 2 or less can't be blocked this turn.
- Mode map: Basic-land search finds registered `Plains` or `Mountain` only; use for missing white/red or land count. Unblockable mode targets `Tireless Tribe`, `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Spirit Mascot`, or `Sneaky Snacker` while their power is 2 or less; use when combat access is worth losing the land.
- Partners / packages: Enables `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out`; fixes for `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Faithless Looting`, `Lightning Axe`, `Fling`, `Pursue the Past`, and `Thrilling Discovery`.
- Role peers: No direct peer; closest role overlap is `Sandstorm Eidolon` because it can make one target creature unable to block, but `Escape Tunnel` makes your small creature unblockable.
- Failure modes: It has no listed tap-for-mana ability in the Card Reference, so treat it as land-search/evasion utility, not a normal mana source. Sacrificing it for a basic can strand the combo against blockers.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: High value against creature boards and low-removal decks; lower value when the opponent's interaction is stack-based or sacrifice-based rather than blocking.
#### Prismatic Strands
- Deck role: Main deck, 1 copy, plus sideboard, 2 copies, damage-prevention role player and anti-aggro sideboard bullet.
- Role type: lifegain/stabilization; interaction-sweeper; sideboard bullet.
- Deck-specific job: Buys the turn needed to assemble `Tireless Tribe`, blanks a lethal attack, or protects against same-color damage. Flashback lets a white creature convert graveyard access into another prevention turn.
- Timing: Save for lethal or near-lethal damage, a decisive crack-back, or a turn where preventing one color lets `Tireless Tribe` untap and kill. Flash back only when tapping `Tireless Tribe`, `Aurora Eidolon`, or `Spirit Mascot` will not break lethal, blocking, or protection plans.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{2}{W}` from hand; flashback by tapping an untapped white creature you control, then exile it. Outputs prevention of all damage that sources of one chosen color would deal this turn.
- Mode map: Hand-cast mode consumes mana and preserves creatures untapped. Flashback mode consumes a white creature tap from `Tireless Tribe`, `Aurora Eidolon`, or `Spirit Mascot`; use when mana is constrained or the card is already in graveyard.
- Partners / packages: Works with `Tireless Tribe`, `Aurora Eidolon`, and `Spirit Mascot` for flashback; complements `Blacksmith's Skill` and `Benevolent Blessing` by answering damage rather than targeting.
- Role peers: Closest role overlap is `Aurora Eidolon` as damage prevention, but `Prismatic Strands` can prevent all damage from a chosen color for the turn.
- Failure modes: Does not stop life loss, sacrifice effects, counterspells, non-damage removal, or damage from colors not chosen. Choosing the wrong color can leave another source lethal.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Bring extra copies against red aggro, go-wide creature decks, and burn-like damage; trim against blue control, graveyard combo, and low-damage engines.
#### Plains
- Deck role: Main deck, 5 copies, basic white mana resource and discard fuel after setup.
- Role type: mana/fixing/ramp; engine fuel/material.
- Deck-specific job: Casts `Tireless Tribe`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Prismatic Strands`, `Aurora Eidolon`, `Pursue the Past`, `Spirit Mascot`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Thraben Charm`, and `Benevolent Blessing`. It is also one of the exact basic targets for `Escape Tunnel`.
- Timing: Prioritize early `Plains` when `Tireless Tribe` or protection defines the turn. Once white mana and total mana are stable, extras become safe discard fuel.
- Inputs / outputs: Taps for `{W}`; can be searched by `Escape Tunnel` and enters tapped from that ability.
- Partners / packages: Enables `Tireless Tribe`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Prismatic Strands`, `Pursue the Past`, `Spirit Mascot`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Thraben Charm`, and `Benevolent Blessing`.
- Role peers: `Wind-Scarred Crag` and `Boros Garrison` also provide white but enter tapped; `Escape Tunnel` can find `Plains` but does not provide ordinary mana from the listed text.
- Failure modes: All-white hands can fail to cast `Faithless Looting`, `Lightning Axe`, `Lightning Bolt`, `Fling`, `Pyroblast`, `Red Elemental Blast`, `Electrickery`, `Flaring Pain`, `Siege Smash`, or `Cast into the Fire`.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: More valuable against removal-heavy decks where protection mana matters; do not discard the last white source before `Tireless Tribe` is protected.
#### Inside Out
- Deck role: Main deck, 4 copies, core combo payoff.
- Role type: combo finisher; mechanic payoff; card selection.
- Deck-specific job: Turns `Tireless Tribe` toughness pumps into power for lethal combat, then draws a card. With `Tireless Tribe`, each discarded card adds +4 toughness before the switch, so five discards can produce 21 power from a 1/1.
- Timing: Preserve for lethal, near-lethal, or forced breakthrough turns. Cast as a cantrip only when no real combo target is available and digging is worth losing one payoff.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{1}{U/R}`, paid with red in this deck; targets a creature; switches that creature's power and toughness until end of turn; draws a card after resolution.
- Partners / packages: Primary partner is `Tireless Tribe`; `Escape Tunnel` should usually be used before `Inside Out`; `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Benevolent Blessing`, `Pyroblast`, and `Red Elemental Blast` protect the turn; `Fling` converts the switched power into direct damage.
- Role peers: No direct peer; closest role overlap is `Fling` as a finisher, but `Inside Out` enables combat damage while `Fling` sacrifices a creature for direct damage.
- Failure modes: It needs a legal creature target and does not protect that target. Opposing removal in response can waste the spell; casting it before `Escape Tunnel` can make the creature too powerful for Tunnel targeting.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Against blue decks, fight over it with `Pyroblast` or `Red Elemental Blast`; against removal decks, wait for `Blacksmith's Skill` or a tapped-out opponent.
#### Mountain
- Deck role: Main deck, 5 copies, basic red mana resource and discard fuel after setup.
- Role type: mana/fixing/ramp; engine fuel/material.
- Deck-specific job: Casts `Faithless Looting`, `Lightning Bolt`, `Lightning Axe`, `Fling`, red payment for `Inside Out`, `Pursue the Past`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Spirit Mascot`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Pyroblast`, `Red Elemental Blast`, `Electrickery`, `Flaring Pain`, `Siege Smash`, and `Cast into the Fire`. It is the other exact basic target for `Escape Tunnel`.
- Timing: Prioritize early `Mountain` when the hand needs `Faithless Looting` to fix, `Lightning Axe` or `Lightning Bolt` to survive, or `Inside Out` red payment soon. Extra copies become discard fuel only after red access is secured.
- Inputs / outputs: Taps for `{R}`; can be searched by `Escape Tunnel` and enters tapped from that ability.
- Partners / packages: Enables `Faithless Looting`, `Lightning Axe`, `Lightning Bolt`, `Fling`, `Inside Out`, `Pursue the Past`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Spirit Mascot`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Pyroblast`, `Red Elemental Blast`, `Electrickery`, `Flaring Pain`, `Siege Smash`, and `Cast into the Fire`.
- Role peers: `Wind-Scarred Crag` and `Boros Garrison` also provide red but enter tapped; `Escape Tunnel` can find `Mountain`.
- Failure modes: All-red hands can fail to cast `Tireless Tribe`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Prismatic Strands`, `Thraben Charm`, or `Benevolent Blessing`.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: More valuable post-board against blue decks and artifact decks because `Pyroblast`, `Red Elemental Blast`, `Siege Smash`, and `Cast into the Fire` all need red.
#### Lightning Bolt
- Deck role: Main deck, 1 copy, flexible removal and reach singleton.
- Role type: interaction-removal; reach/finisher.
- Deck-specific job: Removes a blocker or attacker that changes the `Tireless Tribe` clock, or finishes the opponent after a partial combo hit. Because there is only one copy, treat it as a tactical tool rather than a burn plan.
- Timing: Use early against creatures when that saves a full turn or clears the only relevant blocker. Save for reach when the opponent is within 3 damage and creature removal no longer matters.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{R}`; deals 3 damage to any target.
- Partners / packages: Combines with `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out` chip damage, `Fling` direct damage, `Lightning Axe` blocker control, and `Prismatic Strands` race stabilization.
- Role peers: `Lightning Axe` kills larger creatures but only targets creatures and asks for discard or `{5}`; `Cast into the Fire` and `Electrickery` cover one-toughness opposing creatures after sideboarding.
- Failure modes: Do not aim at the opponent if a blocker prevents lethal or an attacker kills you first. Three damage does not shrink a creature; it marks damage and only kills if damage equals or exceeds toughness after other damage.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Strong against one-to-three-toughness creatures and low-life opponents; weaker against high-toughness creatures, prevention, and blue stack fights.
#### Lightning Axe
- Deck role: Main deck, 3 copies, high-impact creature removal and discard outlet.
- Role type: interaction-removal; discard outlet.
- Deck-specific job: Kills large blockers or fast attackers while converting spare cards into a cost. It protects the combo route by removing creatures that either race `Tireless Tribe` setup or force too many cards to be discarded.
- Timing: Fire before combat when a creature blocks lethal or threatens lethal next turn. Hold when the target can be bypassed by `Escape Tunnel` and your hand needs cards for `Tireless Tribe`.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{R}` plus either discarding a card or paying `{5}` as an additional cost; deals 5 damage to target creature only.
- Partners / packages: Best discard cards are `Sneaky Snacker`, extra `Plains`, extra `Mountain`, recurring `Aurora Eidolon`, recurring `Sandstorm Eidolon`, and targetless `Pyroblast`, `Red Elemental Blast`, `Electrickery`, `Flaring Pain`, `Siege Smash`, `Thraben Charm`, `Cast into the Fire`, or `Benevolent Blessing`.
- Role peers: `Lightning Bolt` is cheaper and flexible to any target but smaller; `Thraben Charm` can damage target creature based on twice your creature count; `Cast into the Fire` handles one-toughness creatures or artifacts.
- Failure modes: Cannot target players, planeswalkers, artifacts without being creatures, or enchantments. Discarding `Inside Out`, `Tireless Tribe`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, or `Fling` can break the combo unless survival demands it.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Premium against large creature decks and big blockers; costly against discard pressure or removal-heavy decks where hand size is the combo resource.
#### Fling
- Deck role: Main deck, 1 copy, alternate finisher singleton.
- Role type: combo finisher; reach/finisher.
- Deck-specific job: Converts a pumped and switched `Tireless Tribe` into direct damage when combat is blocked, unsafe, or insufficient. It is the cleanest way to win without needing the creature to connect.
- Timing: Cast only when the sacrificed creature's current power makes the damage lethal or the creature would be lost anyway. Sequence after `Tireless Tribe` pumps and `Inside Out` have produced the needed power.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{1}{R}` and sacrificing a creature as an additional cost; deals damage equal to the sacrificed creature's power to any target.
- Partners / packages: Uses `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out` as the main sacrifice source; protected by `Blacksmith's Skill` against removal before sacrifice, and by `Pyroblast` or `Red Elemental Blast` against blue stack interaction.
- Role peers: `Inside Out` is the primary finisher through combat; `Lightning Bolt` is smaller reach that does not cost a creature.
- Failure modes: Sacrifice is paid as a cost, so if `Fling` is countered or prevented, the creature is still gone. Do not use for partial damage unless the race or survival math forces it.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Valuable against clogged boards and combat prevention if damage can still resolve; risky against blue counters and open removal before the sacrifice window.
#### Faithless Looting
- Deck role: Main deck, 3 copies, card-flow engine and discard outlet.
- Role type: card selection; discard outlet; mechanic enabler.
- Deck-specific job: Digs for `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, `Escape Tunnel`, protection, or missing mana while discarding cards that are better in graveyard or not needed. It sets up `Sneaky Snacker`, flashback resources, and recursive Eidolons.
- Timing: Cast early when the hand lacks a combo half, land, or protection. Flash back later when spending `{2}{R}` still leaves mana and cards for the chosen combo or survival line.
- Inputs / outputs: Hand cast costs `{R}`; draws two, then discards two. Flashback costs `{2}{R}` from graveyard, then exiles `Faithless Looting`.
- Mode map: Hand-cast mode is cheap setup. Flashback mode is late rebuild and consumes more mana; use after flooding, disruption, or when searching for the final piece.
- Partners / packages: Discards `Sneaky Snacker`, `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, extra `Plains`, extra `Mountain`, and redundant support bodies; digs for `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Escape Tunnel`, and `Fling`.
- Role peers: `Thrilling Discovery` draws more if you discard two and gains life; `Pursue the Past` gains life and may discard one to draw two.
- Failure modes: Drawing happens before discarding, so a `Sneaky Snacker` discarded to this same `Faithless Looting` was not in the graveyard for those drawn cards. Do not discard the only threat or payoff without a replacement plan.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Excellent in slower or disrupted games; dangerous under pressure if it spends mana without affecting board or survival.
#### Pursue the Past
- Deck role: Main deck, 4 copies, red-white velocity and life-buffer core role player.
- Role type: card selection; discard outlet; lifegain/stabilization.
- Deck-specific job: Gains life, optionally turns one card into two new cards, and has flashback for rebuilds. It helps find `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, protection, land, or `Fling` while preserving more hand size than two-card discard effects.
- Timing: Cast when gaining 2 life and seeing two new cards improves the next turn or current survival. Avoid when `{R}{W}` must remain up for `Inside Out`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Lightning Axe`, `Lightning Bolt`, or `Fling`.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{R}{W}` from hand; gains 2 life; you may discard a card, and if you do, draw two cards. Flashback costs `{2}{R}{W}` from graveyard, then exiles it.
- Mode map: Hand-cast mode is efficient life plus optional filtering. Flashback mode is expensive late-game reload; use when mana is abundant and the graveyard line does not crowd out the kill turn.
- Partners / packages: Discards `Sneaky Snacker`, `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, extra `Plains`, extra `Mountain`, or targetless `Pyroblast`, `Red Elemental Blast`, `Electrickery`, `Flaring Pain`, `Siege Smash`, `Thraben Charm`, `Cast into the Fire`, or `Benevolent Blessing`; casts can return graveyard `Aurora Eidolon` and `Sandstorm Eidolon`.
- Role peers: `Faithless Looting` is cheaper and digs immediately but discards two; `Thrilling Discovery` draws three if you discard two.
- Failure modes: The discard is optional; do not discard a needed `Inside Out`, `Tireless Tribe`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, or final land just to draw. Flashback exiles the spell after resolution.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Strong against burn and attrition; slower against fast creature starts if it replaces removal or blockers.
#### Sandstorm Eidolon
- Deck role: Main deck, 2 copies, recursive support creature and blocker-denial flex slot.
- Role type: engine fuel/material; protection/evasion; role glue.
- Deck-specific job: Can be discarded and later returned by multicolored spells, and its sacrifice ability can stop one target creature from blocking during a combo turn. It also attacks or blocks when the game shifts to fair pressure.
- Timing: Cast or recur when the game is slow enough for a 2/2 body. Use `{R}` and sacrifice only when making target creature unable to block enables lethal or prevents a critical block.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{3}{R}`; `{R}` and sacrifice make target creature unable to block this turn; casting `Inside Out`, `Pursue the Past`, `Spirit Mascot`, or `Thrilling Discovery` can return it from graveyard to hand.
- Partners / packages: Pairs with `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out` by clearing a blocker; fuels `Lightning Axe`, `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Pursue the Past`, and `Tireless Tribe`.
- Role peers: `Escape Tunnel` also enables combat access, but it makes your power-2-or-less creature unblockable; `Aurora Eidolon` shares Eidolon recursion but prevents damage instead of denying blocks.
- Failure modes: The sacrifice ability targets a creature, so it does not help against no-blocker prevention, sacrifice effects, or stack interaction. Four mana is slow when the deck needs to keep mana open.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Better against creature boards with one key blocker; weaker against blue control, removal-heavy decks, or decks that do not block.
#### Sneaky Snacker
- Deck role: Main deck, 4 copies, recursive flying threat and discard-material core role player.
- Role type: threat/clock; mechanic payoff; engine fuel/material.
- Deck-specific job: Provides aerial pressure and returns from graveyard tapped when you draw your third card in a turn. It is a preferred discard to filtering or costs when the draw sequence can bring it back.
- Timing: Since the registered mana base has no black or blue mana sources, plan primarily around graveyard return, not normal casting. Put it in graveyard before the third-card draw event you expect to trigger it.
- Inputs / outputs: Has mana cost `{U}{B}` but this deck has no registered blue or black source in the provided Card Reference. Returns from graveyard to battlefield tapped when you draw your third card in a turn.
- Partners / packages: `Thrilling Discovery` can draw three after discarding two, so a discarded `Sneaky Snacker` is in graveyard before those three draws. `Pursue the Past` draws two after a discard, which can trigger after the normal draw step. `Faithless Looting` draws before discarding, so a Snacker discarded to that same Looting was not in graveyard for those two draws.
- Role peers: Closest role overlap is `Aurora Eidolon` and `Sandstorm Eidolon` as discard-friendly material, but `Sneaky Snacker` returns to battlefield rather than hand.
- Failure modes: Returns tapped, so it does not immediately block. Does not use madness mana. Graveyard hate stops the backup pressure plan.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Useful against control and attrition as recurring pressure; less reliable against graveyard hate or fast aggro where tapped return may not stabilize.
#### Spirit Mascot
- Deck role: Main deck, 3 copies, multicolored support body and graveyard-leave payoff.
- Role type: mechanic payoff; threat/clock; role glue.
- Deck-specific job: Grows when one or more cards leave your graveyard, turning flashback, Eidolon returns, and `Sneaky Snacker` returns into +1/+1 counters. It gives the deck a secondary creature that rewards the same graveyard movement already used for setup.
- Timing: Cast when you expect `Faithless Looting`, `Pursue the Past`, or `Prismatic Strands` flashback, `Sneaky Snacker` return, or `Aurora Eidolon`/`Sandstorm Eidolon` return triggers soon. Do not cast it over `Tireless Tribe` when the combo is ready.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{R}{W}`; starts as a 2/2; gets one +1/+1 counter whenever one or more cards leave your graveyard.
- Partners / packages: Triggers from flashback exile of `Faithless Looting`, `Pursue the Past`, and `Prismatic Strands`; from `Sneaky Snacker` moving from graveyard to battlefield; and from `Aurora Eidolon` or `Sandstorm Eidolon` returning from graveyard to hand.
- Role peers: Closest role overlap is `Sneaky Snacker` as secondary pressure, but `Spirit Mascot` needs graveyard movement rather than third-card draws.
- Failure modes: It does nothing immediately if no graveyard card leaves. It is not protection for `Tireless Tribe` and should not consume the turn needed for a protected combo.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Better in slower, removal-heavy games; lower priority when racing or when graveyard hate is visible.
#### Thrilling Discovery
- Deck role: Main deck, 4 copies, core red-white refill and life-buffer spell.
- Role type: card selection; discard outlet; lifegain/stabilization; mechanic enabler.
- Deck-specific job: Gains life and, when you discard two cards, draws three to find combo pieces while triggering `Sneaky Snacker` from graveyard. It is the highest-volume main-deck hand refuel.
- Timing: Cast when discarding two does not leave `Tireless Tribe` short of lethal fuel or strip the only payoff/protection. It is strongest when `Sneaky Snacker`, recursive Eidolons, or excess lands are available to discard.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{R}{W}`; gains 2 life; then you may discard two cards, and if you do, draw three cards.
- Partners / packages: Discards `Sneaky Snacker`, `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, extra `Plains`, extra `Mountain`, and redundant support bodies; digs for `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Escape Tunnel`, `Fling`, and removal.
- Role peers: `Faithless Looting` is cheaper and has flashback but draws two then discards two; `Pursue the Past` discards at most one and draws two.
- Failure modes: If you choose not to discard two, it only gains 2 life. If you discard critical combo cards without finding replacements, hand size and kill math collapse.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Excellent against burn and midrange attrition; risky against fast pressure when spending turn two on filtering leaves a lethal board unchecked.
#### Tireless Tribe
- Deck role: Main deck, 4 copies, primary core combo creature.
- Role type: combo enabler; threat/clock; protection/evasion.
- Deck-specific job: Converts each card in hand into +0/+4 until end of turn, then `Inside Out` turns that toughness into lethal power. It is the card the deck is built to find, protect, and connect with.
- Timing: Deploy early when white mana is available and either protection, opponent tap-out, or low removal risk makes exposure acceptable. During combo turns, discard only enough cards for lethal, survival, or `Fling` math.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{W}`; discard a card to give it +0/+4 until end of turn. With `Inside Out`, one discard means 5 power, two means 9, three means 13, four means 17, and five means 21 before other effects.
- Partners / packages: Main payoff is `Inside Out`; access comes from `Escape Tunnel` and `Sandstorm Eidolon`; protection comes from `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Benevolent Blessing`, and `Prismatic Strands`; `Fling` converts its power into direct damage.
- Role peers: No direct peer; `Spirit Mascot`, `Sneaky Snacker`, `Aurora Eidolon`, and `Sandstorm Eidolon` are secondary bodies but do not replace the combo engine.
- Failure modes: Discarding into open removal can lose the whole hand. Do not use as a routine attacker or blocker unless the exchange wins, saves life, or sets up lethal.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Protect aggressively against removal-heavy and blue decks; against aggro, blocking with toughness pumps can buy time but may reduce combo fuel.
#### Boros Garrison
- Deck role: Main deck, 2 copies, tapped red-white bounce-land mana resource.
- Role type: mana/fixing/ramp.
- Deck-specific job: Produces both combo colors and increases mana density for multi-spell turns involving `Inside Out`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Fling`, `Lightning Axe`, or flashback. It also lets `Wind-Scarred Crag` be replayed for another life if tempo allows.
- Timing: Play when returning a land does not cost a critical early spell or protection window. Better after an untapped basic has already enabled `Tireless Tribe` or `Faithless Looting`.
- Inputs / outputs: Enters tapped; returns a land you control to its owner's hand; taps for `{R}{W}`.
- Partners / packages: Fixes for `Pursue the Past`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Spirit Mascot`, `Inside Out`, `Fling`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, and sideboard red-white interaction.
- Role peers: `Wind-Scarred Crag` also fixes red-white but only produces one mana and gains life; `Plains` and `Mountain` enter untapped but are single-color.
- Failure modes: A one-land hand relying on `Boros Garrison` is not functional. Returning `Escape Tunnel` can delay unblockable lethal; returning the wrong basic can cut off protection or removal.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Strong in slower games and attrition; risky against fast aggro, land-bounce punishment, or open interaction that demands untapped mana.
#### Pyroblast
- Deck role: Sideboard, 3 copies, blue-hate stack and permanent interaction bullet.
- Role type: interaction-stack; interaction-removal; sideboard bullet; modal utility.
- Deck-specific job: Protects `Inside Out` or `Fling` from blue stack interaction, counters blue card-advantage spells, or destroys a blue permanent that blocks or races the combo.
- Timing: Hold for a blue spell on the stack that stops your combo or a blue permanent that materially changes lethal. Do not spend it on a low-impact blue card if a counter fight is likely.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{R}`; can counter target spell if it's blue, or destroy target permanent if it's blue.
- Mode map: Counter mode targets a spell on the stack and only counters it if it is blue. Destroy mode targets a permanent on the battlefield and only destroys it if it is blue.
- Partners / packages: Protects `Inside Out`, `Fling`, `Tireless Tribe`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, and `Benevolent Blessing` lines against blue interaction.
- Role peers: `Red Elemental Blast` has similar blue-spell and blue-permanent jobs, but its counter mode targets only a blue spell and its destroy mode targets only a blue permanent.
- Failure modes: Dead against nonblue decks and cannot answer resolved nonblue permanents. Do not call it artifact, graveyard, or general removal.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Bring against Faeries, Terror-style blue decks, blue control, and blue tempo; leave out when public cards show few or no blue targets.
#### Electrickery
- Deck role: Sideboard, 1 copy, small-creature sweeper bullet.
- Role type: interaction-sweeper; sideboard bullet; modal utility.
- Deck-specific job: Clears one-toughness blockers or multiple small attackers so `Tireless Tribe` can survive to combo or connect. Overload is the high-value mode against go-wide boards.
- Timing: Use before combat when it removes multiple blockers or attackers, or at instant speed when preventing damage matters. Single-target use is correct only when that creature changes lethal or survival.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{R}` for 1 damage to target creature you don't control, or overload `{1}{R}` to change the target text to each creature you don't control.
- Mode map: Normal mode targets one opposing creature. Overload mode does not target and deals 1 damage to each creature you don't control.
- Partners / packages: Complements `Lightning Bolt`, `Lightning Axe`, `Prismatic Strands`, and `Cast into the Fire` against creature pressure.
- Role peers: `Cast into the Fire` can deal 1 damage to up to two target creatures; `Prismatic Strands` prevents damage without killing creatures.
- Failure modes: One damage does not shrink creatures and may fail against two-toughness boards. Overload still hits only creatures you don't control, so it will not damage opposing players or planeswalkers.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Bring against tokens, Faeries-sized creatures, and go-wide aggro; avoid against large-creature decks or spell-heavy control.
#### Flaring Pain
- Deck role: Sideboard, 1 copy, prevention-break bullet.
- Role type: hate piece; reach/finisher; sideboard bullet.
- Deck-specific job: Makes damage unable to be prevented for the turn, letting `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out`, `Fling`, `Lightning Bolt`, or combat damage punch through fog or prevention effects.
- Timing: Cast on the lethal turn before damage would be prevented, or flash back after the opponent has spent the first prevention exchange. Do not use it merely because it is legal.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{1}{R}` from hand; flashback costs `{R}` from graveyard, then exiles it. Output is a turn-wide rule that damage can't be prevented.
- Mode map: Hand-cast mode costs more but preserves graveyard access. Flashback mode is cheaper from graveyard and is ideal after discard to `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Pursue the Past`, `Lightning Axe`, or `Tireless Tribe`.
- Partners / packages: Enables `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out`, `Fling`, and `Lightning Bolt` through `Prismatic Strands`-style or fog-style prevention.
- Role peers: No direct peer; closest role overlap is `Pyroblast` or `Red Elemental Blast` against blue fog/counter decks, but those fight spells rather than prevention rules.
- Failure modes: Does not stop counterspells, removal, sacrifice effects, blockers, or life gain. It must be timed before relevant damage prevention matters.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Bring against prevention and fog decks; avoid against decks that answer through removal, counters, graveyard hate, or racing without prevention.
#### Red Elemental Blast
- Deck role: Sideboard, 2 copies, blue-hate stack and permanent interaction bullet.
- Role type: interaction-stack; interaction-removal; sideboard bullet; modal utility.
- Deck-specific job: Counters blue spells that stop `Inside Out`, `Fling`, or protection, and destroys blue permanents that block, race, or generate too much tempo.
- Timing: Save for a blue spell on the stack during the decisive fight, especially counterspells, bounce, or card draw that changes the race. Destroy blue permanents only when the battlefield target matters more than holding stack protection.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{R}`; can counter target blue spell or destroy target blue permanent.
- Mode map: Counter mode legally targets a blue spell on the stack. Destroy mode legally targets a blue permanent on the battlefield.
- Partners / packages: Protects `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, `Fling`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, and `Benevolent Blessing` plans from blue interaction.
- Role peers: `Pyroblast` is the closest peer; both fight blue, with minor wording differences around targeting and color checks that the engine will enforce.
- Failure modes: Dead without blue targets. It cannot counter nonblue removal or destroy nonblue blockers.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Bring against blue tempo, blue control, Faeries, and Terror-style blue decks; trim against red aggro, artifact decks with no blue, and creature swarms without blue spells.
#### Siege Smash
- Deck role: Sideboard, 2 copies, artifact answer or split-second combat-pump bullet.
- Role type: modal utility; interaction-removal; protection/evasion; sideboard bullet.
- Deck-specific job: Either destroys a key artifact or gives a creature +3/+2 and trample to force combat damage through blockers. Split second makes it hard for opponents to respond with non-mana spells or abilities while it is on the stack.
- Timing: Use artifact mode when the target blocks the combo, accelerates the opponent, or is hate. Use pump/trample mode on a committed attack when +3/+2 and trample change lethal or force damage through.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{1}{R}`; split second restricts responses while on stack; outputs either artifact destruction or a creature pump plus trample until end of turn.
- Mode map: Destroy mode targets an artifact. Pump mode targets a creature and gives +3/+2 and trample; it can support `Tireless Tribe` after `Inside Out` or a secondary attacker when combat math is decisive.
- Partners / packages: Artifact mode complements `Cast into the Fire`; pump mode works with `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, `Sneaky Snacker`, `Spirit Mascot`, `Aurora Eidolon`, and `Sandstorm Eidolon`.
- Role peers: `Cast into the Fire` exiles artifacts or damages one-toughness creatures; `Thraben Charm` answers enchantments, graveyards, or creatures.
- Failure modes: Does not destroy enchantments. Pump mode is not protection from removal already on the stack unless split second timing prevents the opponent from acting before it resolves.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Bring against Affinity, artifact blockers, artifact hate, and board stalls where trample matters.
#### Thraben Charm
- Deck role: Sideboard, 2 copies, flexible white interaction and hate bullet.
- Role type: modal utility; interaction-removal; hate piece; sideboard bullet.
- Deck-specific job: Answers creatures based on your creature count, destroys a target enchantment, or exiles graveyards from target players. It covers axes that the main deck otherwise struggles to interact with.
- Timing: Choose creature-damage mode when your creature count makes the damage kill a relevant blocker or attacker. Choose enchantment mode only for an enchantment that changes the combo or race. Choose graveyard mode before flashback, delve, escape, threshold, or recursion resources are used.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{1}{W}`; outputs one of three effects depending on chosen mode.
- Mode map: Creature mode deals damage equal to twice the number of creatures you control to target creature. Enchantment mode destroys target enchantment. Graveyard mode exiles any number of target players' graveyards.
- Partners / packages: Creature count comes from `Tireless Tribe`, `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Sneaky Snacker`, and `Spirit Mascot`; graveyard mode complements pressure from `Lightning Axe` against Terror-style threats.
- Role peers: `Lightning Axe` is stronger single-creature damage but costs discard or `{5}`; `Cast into the Fire` handles artifacts and one-toughness creatures; `Flaring Pain` fights prevention instead of permanents or graveyards.
- Failure modes: Graveyard mode must be used before costs are paid for flashback, delve, or escape; exiling after a spell is already cast usually does not undo it. Creature mode may fail with too few creatures.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Bring against graveyard decks, enchantment hate, Aura-style boards, and creature decks where your creature count makes the damage mode live.
#### Cast into the Fire
- Deck role: Sideboard, 1 copy, artifact exile or small-creature damage bullet.
- Role type: modal utility; interaction-removal; sideboard bullet.
- Deck-specific job: Exiles a target artifact or deals 1 damage to each of up to two target creatures. It can remove artifact blockers, artifact lands, equipment, or one-toughness creatures that interfere with the combo.
- Timing: Use artifact mode when exiling the artifact changes mana, combat, or hate. Use damage mode before combat or during combat when one or two one-toughness or already-damaged creatures are relevant blockers or lethal attackers.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{1}{R}`; outputs either one-damage creature cleanup or artifact exile.
- Mode map: Damage mode targets up to two creatures and deals 1 damage to each. Artifact mode targets one artifact and exiles it, including artifact creatures or artifact lands if legal.
- Partners / packages: Complements `Siege Smash` against artifacts; overlaps with `Electrickery` against one-toughness opposing creatures; protects `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out` by clearing relevant blockers.
- Role peers: `Siege Smash` destroys artifacts and can pump/trample; `Electrickery` is better against many one-toughness opposing creatures; `Lightning Bolt` handles one larger target or any target.
- Failure modes: Damage mode does not hit players and does not shrink toughness. Artifact mode cannot hit nonartifact enchantments or nonartifact creatures.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Bring against Affinity, artifact lands, equipment, artifact creatures, and one-toughness utility creatures; avoid against spell-heavy decks without artifacts or relevant one-damage creature targets.
#### Benevolent Blessing
- Deck role: Sideboard, 1 copy, flash Aura protection bullet.
- Role type: protection/evasion; sideboard bullet.
- Deck-specific job: Gives a creature protection from a chosen color, usually to keep `Tireless Tribe` alive or push it through same-color blockers. It is longer-lasting than `Blacksmith's Skill` but narrower and vulnerable to Aura risks.
- Timing: Cast with flash in response to targeted colored removal, before combat to beat colored blockers, or during a decisive turn when protection from one color changes lethal. Choose the color based on visible removal, blockers, or damage sources.
- Inputs / outputs: Costs `{1}{W}`; has flash; enchants a creature; as it enters, choose a color; enchanted creature has protection from that color. It does not remove Auras and Equipment you control already attached to that creature.
- Partners / packages: Best on `Tireless Tribe`; secondary targets are `Spirit Mascot`, `Sneaky Snacker`, `Aurora Eidolon`, or `Sandstorm Eidolon` when they are the active threat or blocker.
- Role peers: `Blacksmith's Skill` gives target permanent hexproof and indestructible for one turn; `Prismatic Strands` prevents damage from one color for the turn.
- Failure modes: Protection does not stop sacrifice effects, edicts, counterspells, non-targeted sweepers of other rules types, or colorless sources. Enchant creature means the Aura needs a legal creature target and can be stranded without one.
- Matchup / visibility hooks: Bring against targeted colored removal, creature combat, and blockers of one color; weaker against blue stack-only decks, sacrifice decks, and board wipes that ignore protection.

## Interaction Priorities
- Priority: Remove blockers or attackers that change the immediate combo math before spending `Lightning Axe` or `Lightning Bolt` on generic pressure. Kill creatures that can block `Tireless Tribe`, race through a setup turn, or force `Prismatic Strands` before the lethal turn; ignore creatures that cannot stop an `Escape Tunnel` line and do not threaten lethal before the next combo window.
- Priority: Use `Lightning Axe` as the main answer to large creatures, must-kill blockers, and lethal attackers, but preserve enough hand size for `Tireless Tribe`. Discard `Sneaky Snacker`, redundant lands, recursive `Aurora Eidolon` or `Sandstorm Eidolon` when recursion is confirmed, or extra setup pieces before discarding `Inside Out`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Fling`, or the last card needed for lethal.
- Priority: Use `Lightning Bolt` on small creatures only when the tempo swing matters now. Against swarm decks, killing an early attacker can save more life than holding `Lightning Bolt` for reach; against control or combo, hold it for exact lethal, a key utility creature, or a post-removal race unless the engine shows a higher-impact legal target.
- Priority: Protect `Tireless Tribe` with `Blacksmith's Skill` only against interaction the legal text can plausibly answer. Use it on the combo body, not on support creatures, unless saving that support creature is the only route to surviving or keeping lethal available. Do not spend `Blacksmith's Skill` to win a small exchange when the opponent still has open removal for the real combo turn.
- Priority: Treat `Prismatic Strands` as a time-buying interaction spell, not as routine life padding. Use it to blank lethal attacks, survive a crack-back after committing, or force one more draw/filter turn; avoid casting it when the prevented damage is small and the opponent still presents the same lethal next turn.
- Bait: Lead with lower-value setup when the opponent likely holds removal or counters and the current turn is not a forced combo turn. `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Pursue the Past`, `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Spirit Mascot`, or a nonlethal `Sneaky Snacker` line can draw interaction before `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out` is exposed.
- Ignore: Do not fight over creatures or permanents that neither shorten the clock nor block the selected kill line. A tapped blocker, a creature too small to race through `Prismatic Strands`, or a ground creature bypassed by `Escape Tunnel` should not pull `Lightning Axe`, `Lightning Bolt`, `Pyroblast`, `Red Elemental Blast`, `Cast into the Fire`, `Thraben Charm`, or `Siege Smash` unless the rules text and board state make it newly decisive.
- Archetype change: Against blue decks, sideboarded `Pyroblast` and `Red Elemental Blast` become protection and stack-interaction first, removal second. Point them at counterspells, bounce, blue blockers, or blue card-advantage spells that stop the combo; do not fire them early just because a blue target exists.
- Archetype change: Against artifacts, tokens, graveyard decks, and damage prevention, use sideboard interaction according to the matchup job. `Cast into the Fire` and `Siege Smash` should answer artifacts or board states that block the kill or race; `Electrickery` should punish small-wide boards; `Thraben Charm` should cover graveyard, enchantment, or creature modes only when the engine exposes the relevant legal text; `Flaring Pain` should be saved for prevention or fog windows, not generic damage.
## Combat And Trading Rules
- Attack: Commit `Tireless Tribe` to combat only when the attack advances lethal, forces a decisive block, or is protected by visible legal actions. A naked chip attack with `Tireless Tribe` is usually worse than preserving the combo body, especially against open mana, untapped blockers, or removal-heavy archetypes.
- Attack: Use `Escape Tunnel` before combat when the chosen legal line makes `Tireless Tribe` unblockable and the hand supports lethal or near-lethal with `Inside Out`. Do not sacrifice `Escape Tunnel` for a small attack if it is the only reliable evasion source and the opponent can rebuild blockers.
- Attack: Send `Sneaky Snacker`, `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, or `Spirit Mascot` when their damage matters and they are not needed as blockers, discard fuel, flashback support, or protection bodies. Treat support creatures as expendable pressure only after the combo body and survival plan are secure.
- Block: Preserve life aggressively against fast creature decks when the combo is at least one turn away. Chump with recursive or low-value creatures before exposing `Tireless Tribe`; block with `Tireless Tribe` only when survival requires it, protection is available, or the engine shows a line where toughness pumping makes the block safe.
- Trade: Accept trades with `Sneaky Snacker`, `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, or `Spirit Mascot` when the trade buys a full turn or clears a future lethal path. Decline trades that reduce hand size, remove flashback/protection support, or leave the deck unable to convert `Inside Out` into lethal.
- Protection: Save `Blacksmith's Skill` for removal, combat damage, or lethal-combat exchanges involving `Tireless Tribe` unless another creature is the only blocker preventing death. Protection that preserves a small attacker is low priority when the opponent can still answer the combo body.
- Life threshold: At 8 or less life against creature decks, value `Prismatic Strands`, blocking, and removal over extra filtering unless the filter action finds or executes lethal this turn. At 4 or less life, assume almost any open attacker or burn-like effect can be decisive unless public information proves otherwise.
- Archetype difference: Against control, avoid unnecessary attacks that expose `Tireless Tribe`; force them to act on the decisive turn and use bait spells to tax counters. Against aggro, trade time for cards, use `Prismatic Strands` to create a safe combo turn, and prioritize killing haste, evasive, or high-power threats. Against fog or prevention decks, hold `Fling` and sideboarded `Flaring Pain` for the turn they convert a blocked or prevented attack into lethal.
## Selection And Tutor Rules
- Selection: Treat this list as a pseudo-selection deck, not a true tutor deck. There is no reliable main-deck card that searches directly for `Inside Out` or `Tireless Tribe`; use `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Pursue the Past`, natural draws, and legal graveyard recursion text to assemble the kill while preserving enough cards to power `Tireless Tribe`.
- Filtering: Use `Faithless Looting` early when the hand needs either a combo piece, land, or protection spell, but avoid discarding the only `Tireless Tribe`, only `Inside Out`, only protection piece, or only red source unless the current legal line immediately replaces it. Flashback should be valued highly after flooding, after discarding `Sneaky Snacker`, or when the graveyard/hand state already supports a protected combo attempt.
- Filtering: Use `Thrilling Discovery` when the discard cost improves card quality without emptying the hand below combo threshold. Prefer discarding excess lands, recursive `Aurora Eidolon` or `Sandstorm Eidolon` when the engine confirms a return line, extra copies of support creatures, and `Sneaky Snacker` when the visible rules output makes the discard useful.
- Filtering: Use `Pursue the Past` only according to the legal action text the engine exposes. Card text check required; if it offers graveyard selection, draw, recursion, or card-flow choices, prioritize recovering `Tireless Tribe`, finding `Inside Out`, protecting a lethal setup, or rebuilding after removal rather than taking generic value.
- Land timing: Make the land drop after selection when `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, or another visible selection action can reveal whether `Plains`, `Mountain`, `Wind-Scarred Crag`, `Boros Garrison`, or `Escape Tunnel` is needed. Make the land drop before selection only when the spell cannot be cast otherwise, when `Boros Garrison` sequencing requires a bounce now, or when `Escape Tunnel` must be deployed to threaten the next combat step.
- Evasion: Preserve `Escape Tunnel` as a combo-enabling land when `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out` is plausible. Use its legal activated ability for mana or evasion according to engine text; do not cash it in for chip damage if it is the only visible route through blockers.
- Bottom/discard priority: Keep `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, enough lands to cast the current plan, and one high-impact interaction card before extra creatures. Discard or deprioritize redundant lands, duplicate support bodies, low-impact pressure, and narrow interaction that lacks a visible target.
## Priority And Stack Rules
- Commitment: Start a full `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out` kill only when visible mana, hand count, blocker state, opponent open interaction, and protection make waiting worse or lethal likely. This is a reasoning gate; do not treat any single legal `Inside Out` action as automatically correct.
- Targeting: When committed to the combo, target `Tireless Tribe` with `Inside Out` if the legal action text exposes that exact target and no better visible combo body exists. After `Inside Out` resolves or is on the stack, use `Tireless Tribe` discard activations only to reach required damage, survive combat, or respond to removal according to visible stack state.
- Protection: Hold `Blacksmith's Skill` until the opponent commits removal, combat damage, or another legal effect that it can answer. Do not pre-cast it into open mana unless the engine shows a current lethal line that requires protection before damage.
- Stack interaction: Let low-impact opponent spells resolve when they do not change lethal math, remove `Tireless Tribe`, stop `Escape Tunnel`, or threaten immediate death. Spend `Pyroblast` or `Red Elemental Blast` after sideboarding on blue counterspells, bounce, or blue threats that directly stop the combo; do not use them merely because a blue target is legal.
- Removal timing: Cast `Lightning Axe` or `Lightning Bolt` before combat when a blocker, lethal attacker, or utility creature must be removed to unlock the selected line. Hold removal through priority when the target does not affect the next turn cycle and the card may be needed as reach, protection from a blocker, or discard-cost leverage.
- Prevention timing: Use `Prismatic Strands` at the latest safe window that prevents lethal or creates a safe combo turn. Card text check required for exact color and flashback handling; choose modes, colors, and costs only from engine-provided legal actions and do not assume prevention covers unshown damage types.
- Finishers: Use `Fling` only when sacrificing the source creature produces lethal, beats a blocker/prevention window, or is necessary before removal resolves. Do not sacrifice `Tireless Tribe` for nonlethal damage unless the visible board shows survival or a forced race requires it.
- Graveyard timing: Treat flashback, recursion, and graveyard-triggered actions as stack-sensitive resources. If `Faithless Looting`, `Prismatic Strands`, `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Sneaky Snacker`, or `Pursue the Past` exposes a graveyard action, use it when it advances the current lethal, survival, or rebuild plan, not just because the graveyard action is available.
## Sideboard Map
- Sideboard principle: protect `Tireless Tribe`, force `Inside Out` through the relevant interaction, and buy exactly enough time to present lethal. Sideboarding should not turn this deck into fair Boros midrange; keep the combo density high unless the opponent's speed or disruption makes an immediate kill unrealistic.
- Blue interaction plan: `Pyroblast` and `Red Elemental Blast` are the main tools against blue counters, blue bounce, blue blockers, and blue card-advantage engines that stop the combo turn. Add them against Faeries, Terror, blue control, Jeskai-style decks, and any opponent that showed blue instant-speed answers. They are bad when the opponent has few or no blue spells, when legal targets are low-impact permanents, or when holding them prevents developing `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out`. After boarding, the role shifts toward protected combo-tempo: resolve or protect the first decisive threat, then hold red mana for the fight over the stack.
- Sweeper plan: `Electrickery` is for one-toughness boards, token swarms, Faeries, small sacrifice creatures, and aggro decks where a single red spell can clear blockers or reduce lethal pressure. It is bad against large-creature decks, spell-heavy control, and matchups where the opponent's creatures do not matter to the `Tireless Tribe` kill. Use it before the combo turn when it clears multiple blockers, but avoid spending it on one creature if `Lightning Axe` or `Lightning Bolt` already covers the relevant body.
- Prevention-break plan: `Flaring Pain` is for fog, prevention, protection, and combat-damage denial that would otherwise blank a lethal `Inside Out` attack or `Fling`. Card text check required for exact timing and flashback behavior; use it only from legal engine actions and only when the visible line needs damage to be unpreventable this turn. It is bad against decks that interact through removal, counters, sacrifice, or racing instead of prevention.
- Anti-aggro prevention plan: the extra `Prismatic Strands` copies are for red aggro, go-wide creature decks, Burn-like pressure, and creature races where one prevented attack buys the combo turn. Card text check required for exact color choice and flashback handling; choose the color from visible attackers, visible stack objects, or known public damage sources. It is bad against low-creature control, non-damage combo, and decks that win through edicts, counters, or graveyard actions rather than damage.
- Flexible artifact/combat plan: `Siege Smash` needs a card text check before assigning exact targets or mode priority. Bring it when the engine shows it answers an artifact, equipment, problematic permanent, blocker, or combat math in a way that advances a lethal turn. It is bad when no legal target changes the next turn cycle, when the matchup is decided on the stack, or when the pump/removal text does not align with visible blockers.
- Graveyard/enchantment/removal plan: `Thraben Charm` needs a card text check before selecting modes, but its likely role is flexible hate and creature interaction. Add it against graveyard decks, enchantment-based hate, Aura-style boards, Terror-style graveyard pressure, and creature decks where the legal mode kills a relevant blocker or attacker. It is bad when no visible graveyard, enchantment, or creature target matters, and it should not displace core combo cards solely for flexibility.
- Artifact and small-permanent plan: `Cast into the Fire` needs a card text check for exact modes and target restrictions. Add it against Affinity, artifact lands, artifact creatures, equipment, and small permanent boards where exile or damage changes the combo race. It is bad against spell-heavy control, creatureless combo, and decks whose relevant threats are too large or non-artifact.
- Protection plan: `Benevolent Blessing` needs a card text check before assuming protection type, color choice, or attachment restrictions. Add it against targeted removal, heavy creature combat, and decks that force `Tireless Tribe` to survive through one decisive turn. It is bad against sacrifice effects, sweepers that ignore protection, counterspell-heavy hands where stack interaction is better, and matchups where tapping mana for protection delays the kill too much.
- Explicit plan versus blue tempo/control:
Side in: 3 Pyroblast; 2 Red Elemental Blast; 1 Benevolent Blessing
Cut: 2 Sandstorm Eidolon; 1 Lightning Bolt; 1 Prismatic Strands; 1 Fling; 1 Aurora Eidolon
- Blue plan notes: Keep `Lightning Axe` when the opponent has `Tolarian Terror`-style bodies, `Gurmag Angler`-style bodies, or evasive pressure; reduce creature-combat prevention before removing stack protection. `Fling` is lower priority when the opponent stops spells on the stack, but keep it if blockers or fog effects are the main problem.
- Explicit plan versus red aggro or go-wide damage decks:
Side in: 2 Prismatic Strands; 1 Electrickery; 1 Benevolent Blessing
Cut: 2 Sandstorm Eidolon; 1 Pursue the Past; 1 Fling
- Aggro plan notes: Keep all `Tireless Tribe`, all `Inside Out`, and enough filtering to find them, but shift the first turns toward survival. Add role cards: prevention, sweeper, and protection. Reduce main-deck emphasis: slower recursive bodies, slow card-flow that costs life tempo, and nonlethal sacrifice reach when blocking and prevention matter more.
- Explicit plan versus Affinity/artifact pressure:
Side in: 1 Cast into the Fire; 2 Siege Smash; 2 Thraben Charm
Cut: 2 Sandstorm Eidolon; 1 Prismatic Strands; 1 Pursue the Past; 1 Aurora Eidolon
- Artifact plan notes: Use `Cast into the Fire` and `Siege Smash` only when the legal target materially changes blockers, clock, or mana development. `Thraben Charm` stays conditional on visible text: choose graveyard, enchantment, or creature interaction only when that mode matters more than racing.
- Explicit plan versus fog/prevention decks:
Side in: 1 Flaring Pain; 2 Pyroblast; 2 Red Elemental Blast
Cut: 3 Lightning Axe; 1 Lightning Bolt; 1 Prismatic Strands
- Prevention plan notes: Add role cards: `Flaring Pain` plus stack interaction if the opponent is blue. Reduce main-deck emphasis: creature removal and damage prevention that do not help force lethal. Preserve `Fling` because it can convert a large `Tireless Tribe` into a noncombat lethal line when legal and visible.
- Explicit plan versus graveyard combo or graveyard midrange:
Side in: 2 Thraben Charm; 1 Cast into the Fire; 1 Electrickery
Cut: 2 Sandstorm Eidolon; 1 Prismatic Strands; 1 Lightning Bolt
- Graveyard plan notes: `Thraben Charm` is the priority sideboard card only if the engine exposes graveyard-relevant legal text. Do not slow the combo for hate unless the opponent's graveyard is visibly enabling lethal, recursion, or a blocker clock that beats the natural `Inside Out` plan.
- Role-change rule: On the play, favor proactive combo density and stack protection; on the draw, favor extra survival cards against fast creature decks. When the opponent has shown both removal and counters, prefer a balanced package of `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Benevolent Blessing`, `Pyroblast`, and `Red Elemental Blast` over narrow hate.
- Reversion rule: If a sideboard card has no visible target family in Game 2, reduce its priority for Game 3 even if the archetype label suggested it. Trust public cards seen, engine-visible permanents, graveyards, and stack patterns over generic matchup assumptions.
## Matchup Guidance
- Aggro: Prioritize surviving to a protected `Tireless Tribe` turn over spending early cards for chip damage. Keep hands that produce white mana, find `Tireless Tribe`, and contain either `Inside Out`, filtering, `Prismatic Strands`, `Lightning Axe`, or `Lightning Bolt`; do not keep slow hands that need multiple draw steps before affecting the board. Use `Lightning Axe` on the creature that changes the race most, especially a large attacker, evasive threat, or blocker that would force an extra combo card. Add role cards: extra `Prismatic Strands`, `Electrickery`, and `Benevolent Blessing`. Reduce main-deck emphasis: slow recursive pressure and nonessential reach when life total is the bottleneck.
- Burn: Treat life total as the main clock and avoid unnecessary damage races unless a legal lethal line is visible. `Thrilling Discovery` is especially valuable when its legal text gains life and reloads cards; Card text check required for exact discard/draw/life handling. Protect `Tireless Tribe` from visible red removal with `Blacksmith's Skill` or `Benevolent Blessing` when the protection spell is legal and the combo turn is near. `Prismatic Strands` is strong only when the engine shows damage prevention can apply to the relevant red source. Add role cards: extra `Prismatic Strands`, `Benevolent Blessing`, and possibly `Flaring Pain` only if the opponent also relies on prevention.
- Go-wide decks: Stabilize the widest attack first, then convert the extra turn into an `Inside Out` kill. `Electrickery` is the clearest sideboard role card when the visible board contains multiple small creatures; Card text check required for exact overload or target behavior. `Prismatic Strands` should be saved for a turn where it prevents a large attack, preserves `Tireless Tribe`, or lets the deck untap for lethal. Do not spend `Lightning Axe` on a small creature unless it unlocks lethal, protects life from immediate death, or removes the only blocker that matters.
- Tempo: Assume the opponent can pressure while holding interaction, and make them answer redundant threats before committing the decisive `Inside Out`. Sequence `Faithless Looting`, `Pursue the Past`, and `Thrilling Discovery` to build card volume, but avoid discarding all backup threats when the opponent has open mana and a visible removal/counter pattern. `Sneaky Snacker` and the Eidolon package can matter as pressure if their legal recursion text appears; Card text check required for exact trigger and return conditions. Add role cards: `Pyroblast`, `Red Elemental Blast`, and `Benevolent Blessing` against blue tempo; keep `Lightning Axe` for large tempo threats.
- Control: Force control to fight on multiple axes by developing mana, preserving discard fuel, and waiting for a turn with protection or stack help. Do not fire `Inside Out` into open mana merely because it is legal unless waiting is worse due to a visible clock, known hand pressure, or expiring opportunity. `Pyroblast` and `Red Elemental Blast` are high-value sideboard cards against blue spells, blue blockers, or counter-heavy play patterns; Card text check required for exact target restrictions. `Fling` is valuable when blockers or sorcery-speed removal make combat unreliable, but it is weak if the opponent can counter either the setup or payoff.
- Removal-heavy decks: Make `Tireless Tribe` survival the commitment gate, not just finding `Inside Out`. Prefer hands with `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Benevolent Blessing`, redundant `Tireless Tribe`, or enough filtering to rebuild. Cast `Tireless Tribe` when the opponent is tapped low, when protection is available, or when delaying gives the opponent more discard/removal windows than it solves. Do not discard the whole hand to pump unless the legal action sequence can produce lethal, force a profitable `Fling`, or protect the creature through known damage-based removal.
- Midrange: Stay lean and punish tapped-out turns, because midrange usually wins by combining a clock with removal. Use `Lightning Axe` and `Lightning Bolt` to clear the blocker or threat that changes the next turn cycle, not the first legal target. Recursive or card-flow creatures such as `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Sneaky Snacker`, and `Spirit Mascot` need card text checks before tactical assumptions, but they can be treated as secondary pressure when the engine exposes legal value. Add role cards based on the revealed axis: `Thraben Charm` for graveyard/enchantment/creature modes, `Benevolent Blessing` for targeted removal, and `Prismatic Strands` for combat-heavy pressure.
- Big mana: Race before the opponent's expensive spells dominate combat or interaction. Mulligan hands that durdle without `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, or strong card selection, because big mana usually gives fewer early punishments but stronger late inevitability. Hold removal for the blocker or threat that blocks lethal or creates an immediate kill clock; do not spend `Lightning Axe` on mana creatures or setup permanents unless the visible game state says that permanent is the bottleneck. Add role cards only if public information supports them, such as `Pyroblast` or `Red Elemental Blast` against blue big mana, `Cast into the Fire` or `Siege Smash` against artifacts, and `Flaring Pain` against prevention.
- Combo: Identify whether this deck is faster, more interactive, or forced to disrupt. Against faster combo, keep hands that can assemble `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out` quickly or interact with the opponent's visible engine through legal sideboard cards. `Pyroblast`, `Red Elemental Blast`, `Thraben Charm`, `Cast into the Fire`, and `Flaring Pain` are only correct when their engine-visible text maps onto the opponent's actual combo axis. Do not board into a slow control deck; the default plan remains to present lethal before the opponent's deterministic turn.
- Graveyard decks: Use `Thraben Charm` only when the visible graveyard and legal mode matter more than advancing the combo. Card text check required for exact graveyard interaction, target limits, and timing. Against Terror-style decks or recursive threats, `Lightning Axe` can buy a key turn, while `Thraben Charm` can attack the resource if the engine exposes that action. Do not overvalue graveyard hate against opponents whose graveyard is incidental; maintain enough `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, and card flow to actually win.
- Artifact decks: Bring artifact interaction when it removes blockers, mana, lethal pressure, or hate pieces. `Cast into the Fire` and `Siege Smash` need card text checks for exact modes and restrictions, but their role is to break Affinity-style boards, artifact creatures, artifact lands, equipment, or small permanents that interfere with the combo. Preserve `Lightning Axe` for large artifact creatures if it is the cleanest legal answer. Avoid slow hate lines when the opponent is already pressuring life and a protected combo turn is available.
- Enchantment decks: Use `Thraben Charm`, `Siege Smash`, or `Benevolent Blessing` only according to legal text and visible targets. Card text check required for exact enchantment removal or protection details. Against Auras or enchantment-based blockers, prioritize removing the permanent or creature that blocks lethal, gives protection from the combo color, or creates a faster clock. Do not assume an Aura deck lacks instant-speed protection; commit the combo when the rules engine shows the opponent is constrained or when waiting is worse.
- Single-threat decks: Preserve removal and protection for the one body that defines the game. `Lightning Axe` is premium when a large attacker or blocker is the opponent's plan, and `Blacksmith's Skill` or `Benevolent Blessing` can swing races by keeping `Tireless Tribe` alive through targeted interaction. If the single threat is blue or backed by blue interaction, add role cards: `Pyroblast` and `Red Elemental Blast`. Do not trade away `Tireless Tribe` in combat unless survival demands it or another legal combo creature is available.
- Mirror or similar creature-combo decks: Race while respecting instant-speed interaction and sacrifice reach. Removal should target the creature that can produce lethal, not secondary chip damage. `Prismatic Strands` can buy a decisive turn against combat damage, while `Flaring Pain` matters if prevention becomes the deciding axis. Keep enough card flow to recover from one stopped combo attempt, and do not expose all discard fuel before the opponent commits their own kill.
- Unknown opponent: Keep the Game 1 plan proactive and information-hungry. Favor hands with functional mana, `Tireless Tribe`, card filtering, and a route to `Inside Out`; use early legal actions to reveal whether the opponent is racing, controlling, or building a permanent-based lock. Sideboard for Game 2 from observed public cards and engine-visible patterns rather than archetype guesses alone. For Game 3, remove sideboard cards that never found a target family and restore combo density unless the opponent proved that axis matters.
## Specific Matchup Notes
- General/archetype-only note: Exact opponents are not supplied for this batch, so revealed cards, legal actions, and public game history override all matchup assumptions. Sideboard from what the opponent actually shows, and prioritize targets that stop `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out`, block lethal, race faster than the combo, or invalidate `Fling`.
- Blue interaction decks: Treat open blue mana as a commitment tax on the combo turn. Add role cards: `Pyroblast` and `Red Elemental Blast` when the opponent shows blue spells or blue stack interaction. Priority targets are counters aimed at `Inside Out`, protection fights over `Tireless Tribe`, and blue blockers or card-advantage spells that buy the opponent time.
- Red removal and burn decks: Protect `Tireless Tribe` before committing the whole hand. Add role cards: `Prismatic Strands`, `Benevolent Blessing`, and sometimes `Flaring Pain` if prevention mirrors or damage-prevention races appear. Priority targets are instant-speed removal pointed at `Tireless Tribe`, lethal burn, and blockers that force the combo to over-discard.
- Creature swarm decks: Survive first, then kill in one decisive window. Add role cards: `Electrickery`, extra `Prismatic Strands`, and `Thraben Charm` only if legal text and visible targets justify them. Priority targets are go-wide attackers, one-toughness utility creatures, and blockers that make `Inside Out` combat fail.
- Large-creature or Terror-style decks: Use `Lightning Axe` as a tempo card when one creature defines the race. Add role cards: `Thraben Charm` for graveyard pressure when the opponent's graveyard is visibly important; Card text check required for exact modes and targets. Priority targets are large blockers, fast threats, and graveyard resources that directly enable the clock.
- Artifact decks: Break the permanent that changes combat math or mana development. Add role cards: `Cast into the Fire` and `Siege Smash`; Card text check required for exact modes, damage, and target restrictions. Priority targets are artifact creatures blocking `Tireless Tribe`, artifact lands or mana pieces when mana is the bottleneck, and hate permanents that prevent the combo.
- Enchantment or protection decks: Confirm exact legal text before spending sideboard cards. Add role cards: `Thraben Charm`, `Siege Smash`, and `Benevolent Blessing` if the rules engine exposes relevant enchantment, protection, or targeting actions. Priority targets are Auras or permanents that create a faster clock, give protection from the combo line, or stop `Fling`.
- Graveyard-light fair decks: Do not dilute the main plan for speculative hate. Keep `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Pursue the Past`, and protection density high unless public cards prove a different axis matters. Priority targets are removal spells, must-answer blockers, and pressure that shortens the combo clock.
## Risk Summary
- Mana risk: The deck can stumble when `Boros Garrison`, `Wind-Scarred Crag`, or color requirements force tapped development before `Tireless Tribe` is protected. Keep hands that cast early setup and still reach white plus red for `Inside Out`, `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, `Lightning Axe`, or sideboard interaction.
- Matchup risk: Fast aggro punishes slow filtering, while control punishes premature commitment. Decide whether the current game asks for racing, protection, or removal before spending `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, or `Pursue the Past`.
- Draw risk: Hands with card flow but no creature or no payoff can look functional while failing to threaten lethal. Prioritize finding `Tireless Tribe` and `Inside Out`; secondary cards such as `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Sneaky Snacker`, and `Spirit Mascot` require card text checks before treating them as a replacement plan.
- Over-sideboarding risk: Removing too much combo density turns the deck into weak red-white midrange. Bring `Pyroblast`, `Red Elemental Blast`, `Electrickery`, `Flaring Pain`, `Siege Smash`, `Thraben Charm`, `Cast into the Fire`, `Benevolent Blessing`, and extra `Prismatic Strands` only when visible opponent cards give them jobs.
- Graveyard risk: `Faithless Looting`, `Pursue the Past`, and possible recursive threats may make the graveyard relevant, but graveyard dependence must be verified from legal actions and card text. Do not assume graveyard lines are available through hate or replacement effects.
- Sweeper/removal risk: A single removal spell on `Tireless Tribe` can waste the combo turn if protection is absent. Sequence `Blacksmith's Skill`, `Benevolent Blessing`, and priority passes around visible mana and stack actions rather than discarding the full hand too early.
- Closer risk: `Inside Out` kills through combat only if the creature survives, can connect, and the math is real. `Fling` can bypass combat, but it exposes a different stack window and may fail if the creature is removed or the spell is countered.
- Interaction risk: `Lightning Bolt`, `Lightning Axe`, `Prismatic Strands`, and sideboard cards are easy to spend on low-impact targets. Save them for lethal prevention, blocker removal, combo protection, or the opponent engine piece proven by public information.
- Sequencing risk: Filtering before identifying the required missing piece can discard the wrong resource. Treat every discard to `Tireless Tribe`, `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, or `Lightning Axe` as a commitment decision tied to the current lethal window or rebuild plan.
## Test Feedback Checklist
- Deciding factor: Record whether the game was decided by assembling `Tireless Tribe` plus `Inside Out`, protecting the combo, failing to find a creature, failing to find `Inside Out`, losing to pressure, or losing a stack fight. Name the public board state and the visible legal action that made the result turn.
- Mulligans: Track every keep and mulligan by whether the opener had a castable `Tireless Tribe`, a route to `Inside Out`, enough white/red mana, and a protection or rebuild plan. Flag hands kept on filtering only when `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, or `Pursue the Past` failed to produce the missing piece in time.
- Mana: Record whether `Wind-Scarred Crag`, `Boros Garrison`, `Escape Tunnel`, `Plains`, and `Mountain` entered or sequenced in a way that delayed the first decisive spell. Separate color screw from tempo loss, because the fix may be land mix rather than land count.
- Velocity: Ask whether `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, and `Pursue the Past` increased access to the combo or merely spent mana while the opponent advanced the clock. Note which card was stranded when the deck had mana but no useful selection action.
- Engine pressure: Record whether `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Sneaky Snacker`, and `Spirit Mascot` mattered as real pressure or only as bodies. Card text check required for exact tactical claims; judge them from legal actions, visible triggers, and board impact in the log.
- Removal and protection: Track whether `Lightning Axe`, `Lightning Bolt`, `Prismatic Strands`, `Blacksmith's Skill`, and `Fling` were used at the highest-value window. Mark mistakes where removal hit a minor threat while a lethal blocker, protection fight, or faster clock remained unresolved.
- Closing: Record failed lethal attempts by cause: no attacker, blocker survived, `Tireless Tribe` removed, `Inside Out` countered, not enough cards to discard, `Fling` disrupted, prevention effect, or incorrect timing. Use rules-engine outcomes, not assumed math.
- Sideboard: For each match, ask whether `Pyroblast`, `Red Elemental Blast`, `Electrickery`, `Flaring Pain`, extra `Prismatic Strands`, `Siege Smash`, `Thraben Charm`, `Cast into the Fire`, and `Benevolent Blessing` had visible targets or stack windows. Flag every sideboard card drawn without a legal or strategically relevant action.
- Role: Record whether the pilot correctly identified combo, tempo, survival, or rebuild as the current role. The main mistake to find is spending cards for generic value when the game demanded either immediate lethal setup or holding protection.
- Stranded cards: List every card stuck in hand for two or more decision cycles and the reason: wrong color, no target, no creature, no graveyard, no artifact/enchantment target, no blue spell, no combat window, or too risky to commit.
- Overperformers and underperformers: Count wins where each card directly enabled the result and losses where each card was drawn but low-impact. Separate main-deck cards from sideboard cards so tuning does not confuse matchup cards with core engine cards.
## First Tuning Questions
- Combo density: Is four `Tireless Tribe` plus four `Inside Out` enough, or do losses show too many games where one half is missing despite `Faithless Looting`, `Thrilling Discovery`, and `Pursue the Past`? If the issue is access, tune selection before adding off-plan threats.
- Protection count: Are two `Blacksmith's Skill` and one main-deck `Prismatic Strands` enough against removal-heavy opponents, or are combo turns repeatedly losing to one visible removal spell? If protection is too light, decide whether `Benevolent Blessing` or extra `Prismatic Strands` should move closer to the main plan.
- Removal balance: Are three `Lightning Axe` and one `Lightning Bolt` clearing the blockers and threats that matter, or is `Lightning Axe` too costly when the hand must be saved for `Tireless Tribe`? If discard cost is the problem, consider whether the removal package is fighting the combo resource model.
- Mana shape: Do `Boros Garrison` and `Wind-Scarred Crag` fix colors often enough to justify tapped starts, or are they causing losses before the combo can threaten? If tempo losses dominate, test whether the land mix needs fewer tapped lands or a different red-white balance.
- Velocity package: Is `Thrilling Discovery` better than `Faithless Looting` or `Pursue the Past` in actual games, or does the mana cost make it clunky under pressure? Tune around the card that most often finds `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, and protection without exposing the pilot to lethal.
- Alternate bodies: Do `Aurora Eidolon`, `Sandstorm Eidolon`, `Sneaky Snacker`, and `Spirit Mascot` create meaningful secondary wins, or are they mostly filler while waiting for the real combo? Card text check required before changing quantities, but logs should show whether they pressure life totals or stabilize combat.
- Finisher mix: Is one `Fling` enough as a combat-bypass closer, or do prevention, blockers, and removal make the deck need more noncombat reach? If `Fling` is stranded without a protected huge creature, adding more may worsen the same dependency.
- Aggro plan: Does the deck stabilize creature swarms after sideboarding with `Electrickery`, extra `Prismatic Strands`, and removal, or does it still die before combo setup? If aggro remains bad, tune sideboard slots toward survival without cutting too much combo density.
- Control plan: Do `Pyroblast` and `Red Elemental Blast` win the important stack fights, or is the deck still forced to commit into open interaction too early? If stack fights remain poor, decide whether more protection, more patience, or different sideboard allocation matters most.
- Artifact/enchantment slots: Are `Siege Smash`, `Cast into the Fire`, and `Thraben Charm` answering proven hate or mostly sitting in hand? If target-light matchups make them dead, consolidate sideboard slots around the hate permanents actually seen.
- Role conflict: Is the deck losing because it sideboards into reactive cards and stops being a fast combo deck? If post-board games show low threat density, restore `Tireless Tribe`, `Inside Out`, and velocity before adding more narrow answers.
## Veles Tactical Policy
### Policy: Mulligan For Combo Function
- Priority: High
- Decision families: mulligan
- Cards: Tireless Tribe, Inside Out, Faithless Looting, Thrilling Discovery, Pursue the Past, Blacksmith's Skill, Prismatic Strands
- Phase windows: pregame mulligan decisions.
- Runtime cues: mulligan prompt, opening hand, visible deck context.
- Use when: evaluating an opener or London mulligan bottom decision.
- Avoid when: rules engine has already locked the keep decision or only bottom choices remain.
- Instructions: Keep hands that can cast Tireless Tribe early and either already contain Inside Out or have credible filtering to find it. Value one protection or interaction card when the opponent is likely to answer a single creature, but do not keep slow hands that only interact and never threaten a combo turn. Treat Lightning Axe as costly interaction because discarded cards may be needed for Tireless Tribe. Bottom excess tapped lands, redundant slow velocity, or matchup-dead interaction before bottoming the first combo half.
- Pilot skill floor: light tactical reasoning.
- No-API allowed: no
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: First Tireless Tribe Setup
- Priority: Medium
- Decision families: mana, priority
- Cards: Tireless Tribe, Wind-Scarred Crag, Plains, Boros Garrison, Escape Tunnel
- Phase windows: early main phases before the first combo attempt.
- Runtime cues: legal cast Tireless Tribe action, land-play actions, available white mana.
- Use when: Tireless Tribe is in hand and the battlefield lacks a protected combo creature.
- Avoid when: the opponent can present immediate lethal and a survival action is legal.
- Instructions: Prioritize establishing Tireless Tribe over deploying lower-impact bodies when the hand contains Inside Out or filtering toward it. Sequence Plains or untapped white access before tapped fixing if doing so lets Tireless Tribe enter before the opponents next removal or clock step. Treat Escape Tunnel as important later reach, not a reason to delay the first creature without a visible payoff.
- Pilot skill floor: basic combo setup.
- No-API allowed: no
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: Red-White Mana Sequencing
- Priority: Medium
- Decision families: mana
- Cards: Plains, Mountain, Wind-Scarred Crag, Boros Garrison, Escape Tunnel, Thrilling Discovery, Faithless Looting, Inside Out, Lightning Axe
- Phase windows: land-play prompts and mana-payment prompts.
- Runtime cues: land actions, mana source prompts, colored cost prompts.
- Use when: choosing land order or paying for a spell that affects combo timing.
- Avoid when: a deterministic mana prompt offers exactly one legal payment.
- Instructions: Preserve white for Tireless Tribe, Inside Out, Blacksmith's Skill, Prismatic Strands, and Thrilling Discovery when those cards define the turn. Preserve red for Faithless Looting, Lightning Axe, Lightning Bolt, Fling, Pyroblast, Red Elemental Blast, Electrickery, Flaring Pain, Siege Smash, and Cast into the Fire when those are legal and relevant. Use Boros Garrison for fixing only when the tempo loss does not push the combo turn beyond the opponents visible clock.
- Pilot skill floor: light tactical reasoning.
- No-API allowed: no
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: Deterministic Single Mana Payment
- Priority: Low
- Decision families: mana
- Cards: none
- Phase windows: mana-payment prompts.
- Runtime cues: action:pay
- Use when: the current legal action list contains exactly one payment action and no alternate payment or optional payment action is visible.
- Avoid when: multiple mana-source, color-choice, optional-cost, or sacrifice/discard payment actions are visible.
- Instructions: Select the only legal payment action. Do not infer future mana plans from this policy.
- Pilot skill floor: deterministic execution.
- No-API allowed: yes
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: Combo Commitment Gate
- Priority: High
- Decision families: priority, combat, interaction
- Cards: Tireless Tribe, Inside Out, Blacksmith's Skill, Fling, Prismatic Strands, Escape Tunnel
- Phase windows: precombat main, beginning of combat, declare attackers, post-blockers, and end-step windows.
- Runtime cues: legal Inside Out action, legal attack action, legal Fling action, opponent open mana, visible blockers, stack interaction.
- Use when: deciding whether to start a Tireless Tribe plus Inside Out kill or wait.
- Avoid when: no Tireless Tribe or equivalent legal target is visible under your control.
- Instructions: Commit when visible damage, discard capacity, protection, evasion, or Fling creates a plausible win before the opponent untaps. Wait when the opponents visible mana and archetype imply likely interaction and you can improve with Faithless Looting, Thrilling Discovery, Pursue the Past, Blacksmith's Skill, or a better attack window. Do not spend Inside Out for a cantrip unless the combo target is absent and the legal line is clearly a rebuild line.
- Pilot skill floor: advanced combo timing.
- No-API allowed: no
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: Target Self Tireless Tribe With Inside Out
- Priority: Medium
- Decision families: selection
- Cards: Inside Out, Tireless Tribe
- Phase windows: spell target prompts after casting Inside Out.
- Runtime cues: action:target self Tireless Tribe
- Use when: the current prompt is an Inside Out target prompt, the legal action text names target self Tireless Tribe, and exactly one own Tireless Tribe is a legal target.
- Avoid when: multiple own Tireless Tribe targets, opposing targets, protection prompts, or removal on the stack require choosing among lines.
- Instructions: Select target self Tireless Tribe. This policy executes the selected combo line and does not decide whether starting the combo was correct.
- Pilot skill floor: deterministic execution.
- No-API allowed: yes
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: Tireless Tribe Discard Pump Gate
- Priority: High
- Decision families: priority, selection
- Cards: Tireless Tribe, Inside Out, Fling, Blacksmith's Skill
- Phase windows: after Inside Out resolves, during combat damage setup, and before Fling damage resolution if sacrifice/power matters.
- Runtime cues: legal Tireless Tribe discard ability, hand contents, visible lethal math.
- Use when: choosing whether to discard cards to Tireless Tribe.
- Avoid when: the rules engine offers no Tireless Tribe ability or card-discard choice.
- Instructions: Discard enough cards only when the visible line threatens lethal, forces a decisive block, enables Fling, or saves Tireless Tribe from damage that matters. Preserve Blacksmith's Skill, Fling, and needed follow-up spells unless discarding them is required for a current win or survival. Do not empty the hand into open interaction unless waiting is worse by visible clock or known public information.
- Pilot skill floor: advanced resource conversion.
- No-API allowed: no
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: Fling Payoff Target
- Priority: High
- Decision families: interaction, selection
- Cards: Fling, Tireless Tribe, Inside Out, Blacksmith's Skill
- Phase windows: main phase or combat windows where Fling is legal.
- Runtime cues: legal Fling action, sacrifice prompt, target prompt, opponent life total.
- Use when: deciding whether Fling converts a pumped creature into lethal or prevents losing the creature for no damage.
- Avoid when: creature power, opponent life, stack protection, or sacrifice target cannot be verified from visible state.
- Instructions: Use Fling as a commitment payoff when the sacrificed creatures visible power and target choice produce a decisive result or bypass blockers. Do not sacrifice Tireless Tribe merely for damage if the combo can still be protected and attack later. If a target prompt follows an already selected lethal Fling line and only opponent-target action is legal, execute that target.
- Pilot skill floor: advanced stack and damage reasoning.
- No-API allowed: no
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: Protection Fight
- Priority: High
- Decision families: interaction, priority
- Cards: Blacksmith's Skill, Prismatic Strands, Benevolent Blessing, Pyroblast, Red Elemental Blast
- Phase windows: in response to removal, counterspells, damage, or combat steps.
- Runtime cues: spell or ability on stack targeting Tireless Tribe, Inside Out, Fling, or lethal combat; legal protection action.
- Use when: a visible stack object or combat result threatens the active combo, survival, or a decisive creature.
- Avoid when: protection text, legal target, or color restriction is uncertain; Card text check required for exact protection details.
- Instructions: Protect Tireless Tribe during a committed combo before protecting secondary creatures. Protect Inside Out or Fling on the stack when a blast effect can legally answer the opposing spell. Use Prismatic Strands for survival or a forced combo window only when the legal action and prevention context are visible.
- Pilot skill floor: advanced interaction timing.
- No-API allowed: no
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: Velocity Before Commitment
- Priority: Medium
- Decision families: priority, selection
- Cards: Faithless Looting, Thrilling Discovery, Pursue the Past, Sneaky Snacker
- Phase windows: main phases with spare mana and no immediate lethal line.
- Runtime cues: legal cast Faithless Looting, legal cast Thrilling Discovery, legal cast Pursue the Past, draw/discard prompts.
- Use when: the hand lacks a combo half, protection, land, or enough action to commit.
- Avoid when: casting a velocity spell taps mana needed for a protected legal combo this turn.
- Instructions: Use filtering to find Tireless Tribe, Inside Out, protection, or land before taking low-impact attacks. Keep cards that assemble or protect the combo over speculative bodies. Card text check required for Pursue the Past and Sneaky Snacker details; follow only the legal draw, discard, and recursion actions shown by Forge.
- Pilot skill floor: light tactical reasoning.
- No-API allowed: no
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: Removal For Blockers And Clocks
- Priority: Medium
- Decision families: interaction, combat
- Cards: Lightning Axe, Lightning Bolt, Electrickery, Cast into the Fire, Siege Smash, Thraben Charm
- Phase windows: main phase, combat, and stack windows where removal is legal.
- Runtime cues: legal target actions for removal, visible blockers, visible lethal clock, hate permanents.
- Use when: a visible creature, artifact, enchantment, or other legal target blocks the combo, threatens lethal, or disables the plan.
- Avoid when: target text or mode text is uncertain; Card text check required for exact modal coverage of Siege Smash and Thraben Charm.
- Instructions: Spend removal first on blockers that stop Tireless Tribe lethal or threats that shorten the clock below your setup time. Treat Lightning Axe discard as a real cost and avoid discarding combo or protection pieces unless the target matters immediately. Use sideboard answers only against visible target classes they can legally affect.
- Pilot skill floor: light tactical reasoning.
- No-API allowed: no
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: Combat With Combo Creature
- Priority: Medium
- Decision families: combat
- Cards: Tireless Tribe, Inside Out, Escape Tunnel, Spirit Mascot, Aurora Eidolon, Sandstorm Eidolon, Sneaky Snacker
- Phase windows: declare attackers, declare blockers, combat trick windows.
- Runtime cues: legal attack/block actions, visible blockers, available Inside Out or protection.
- Use when: choosing attacks or blocks with combo and support creatures.
- Avoid when: exactly lethal or survival math cannot be determined from visible state.
- Instructions: Attack with Tireless Tribe when it threatens a combo kill, forces favorable blocking, or has an Escape Tunnel or protection line visible. Do not risk Tireless Tribe as a routine blocker unless survival requires it or protection makes the exchange decisive. Use Aurora Eidolon, Sandstorm Eidolon, Sneaky Snacker, and Spirit Mascot according to visible legal text; Card text check required for exact role claims.
- Pilot skill floor: light tactical reasoning.
- No-API allowed: no
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: Sideboard Role Selection
- Priority: High
- Decision families: sideboard
- Cards: Pyroblast, Red Elemental Blast, Electrickery, Flaring Pain, Prismatic Strands, Siege Smash, Thraben Charm, Cast into the Fire, Benevolent Blessing, Lightning Axe, Lightning Bolt, Aurora Eidolon, Sandstorm Eidolon, Spirit Mascot
- Phase windows: between games sideboarding.
- Runtime cues: sideboard prompt, opponent archetype, public cards seen in prior games.
- Use when: choosing a legal post-board plan.
- Avoid when: a proposed sideboard plan is not balanced or violates the registered 75.
- Instructions: Add Pyroblast and Red Elemental Blast against blue stack fights. Add Electrickery and extra Prismatic Strands against wide creature pressure. Add Flaring Pain against prevention effects that stop lethal. Add Siege Smash, Thraben Charm, and Cast into the Fire only when public information shows relevant targets. Add Benevolent Blessing when protecting Tireless Tribe is the central fight. Reduce main-deck emphasis on low-impact bodies or excess removal only after preserving combo density and mana.
- Pilot skill floor: advanced matchup reasoning.
- No-API allowed: no
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: Blast Stack Fight
- Priority: Medium
- Decision families: interaction, priority
- Cards: Pyroblast, Red Elemental Blast, Inside Out, Fling, Tireless Tribe
- Phase windows: stack windows against blue spells or blue permanents when legal.
- Runtime cues: legal Pyroblast action, legal Red Elemental Blast action, visible blue spell or target.
- Use when: a legal blast can protect the combo, stop a card-advantage swing, or answer a blocker/enabler that matters.
- Avoid when: the target is not visibly legal or the blast would answer a low-impact spell while a combo fight is expected soon.
- Instructions: Save blast effects for counterspell fights over Inside Out or Fling unless the opponents visible action will otherwise end the game. Use them proactively only when the target directly blocks the combo or creates an unwinnable clock.
- Pilot skill floor: light tactical reasoning.
- No-API allowed: no
- Light-model allowed: yes
### Policy: Exact Pass With Empty Stack
- Priority: Low
- Decision families: priority
- Cards: none
- Phase windows: priority prompts with empty stack.
- Runtime cues: action:pass
- Use when: the legal action list contains pass plus no cast, activate, attack, block, or mana-development action other than pass.
- Avoid when: any non-pass legal action is visible.
- Instructions: Select pass. This policy covers procedural priority only and must not skip tactical opportunities.
- Pilot skill floor: deterministic execution.
- No-API allowed: yes
- Light-model allowed: yes
