SonarQube reports python:S2208 in
backend/atlas_portal/routes/access_requests.py. The build is green; this is a standing finding, not a failure. What is wrong
Line 8 uses
from .access_request_state import *, which pulls an unknown, unbounded set of names into this module's namespace. The comment shows this is intentional:deps = sys.modules[__name__]is handed to the register_* functions so tests/callers can monkeypatch attributes directly onaccess_requests, and the star import is what makes access_request_state's public names show up as attributes of this facade module in the first place. That dynamic, all-names-implicitly-exported behavior is exactly what S2208 flags as unsafe/unclear.Ariadne opened no pull request for it: no automated patch was possible for this finding.
Facts
backend/atlas_portal/routes/access_requests.py:8)Suggested fix (not applied)
Hermes could not open a pull request for this, so the change below was not written, validated, or pushed anywhere. It is a starting point for whoever picks this up, not a reviewed patch.
backend/atlas_portal/routes/access_requests.py— Replace the wildcard import with an explicit module import, then programmatically copy access_request_state's public attributes onto this facade module. This reproduces Python's ownimport *semantics (respecting__all__if defined, otherwise all non-underscore-prefixed names) so every existing patch point (access_requests.<name>) keeps working identically for register()/deps and for any test that monkeypatches this module -- but it no longer uses the bannedimport *syntax, satisfying the rule without changing runtime behavior.Links
